The HVL F600RM2 is a superb powerful flash gun. It is easy to operate and illuminates portraits and groups evenly. It has a useful built in wide panel and bounce sheet - although they can be a bit fiddly to extract. There is a separate diffuser and a couple of colour filters. There is an off camera stand which sits snugly in a pouch in the case. It is a shame the case doesn't fully accommodate the flash gun with the diffuser in place. Which is a surprising corner cut by Sony for such a high end product. I would have liked more robust padding on the case and an external loop for attaching to a camera bag or belt would be a useful addition. Given the power of the gun you need to be aware that it gets through batteries at a rate of knots and I would recommend a couple of sets of rechargeables.

Owned now for a few months and it is fantastic! Total integration and built for the Sony - nothing will work this well. I returned some off-make gear that felt a little cheap, so glad I splashed out on this - amazing bit of kit! Highly recommended!

I bought this for wedding photography. The deal breaker is I can't used the flash of camera unless I spend another $350 in a remote trigger. Sony as far as I know does not offer a hot shoe cord.

I also have the 28RM and they work wirelessly together with one as commander and the other as receiver. Perfect ttl metering, they are expensive but just work seamlessly with the Sony body.

i purchased gn46 wireless radio control external flash unit a few weeks ago, good quality item. as i have only used the flash a few times, it is so well made it comes out perfect. i have used it for fill in flash, it just works a treat. i also like the zoom features which works well with my camera.

This new and unimproved version has a feature removed that?s a deal breaker for me and if you?re familiar with it it may be a deal breaker for you as well. Sony In there infinite unwisdom decided to remove the quick shift bounce function and if you?re not familiar with that, it allows you to take images with the flash on the camera in portrait/vertical mode without getting those harsh shadows that every other make of speedlights have and that includes the high end Profoto so needless to say I?m returning this disappointment pronto. Oh and one more thing, the display is cut in half from the previous two versions so it?s very small.

Bought this a week ago and used for one large event of about 250 people. I was a Canon user for over 30 years, comparing to Canon picture quality this is not my choice. I bought sony setup for video filming, but I will not use for any event photography. Hope Sony is performing well on outdoor photography, but images does not give any natural look. Suffering to edit to get to some corrections made my time wast. Canon images what I expos I can sell straight away. But near future I will get my hands on with Sony.
