It was expensive but bought it at half price during sale.It's a safe way to record both with it and SD. I have FS700 and slowmo works with it. I can use it as well as external drive using the USB2.0 cable included which I tested runs at about 40MB/s read and write. COntemplating of buying another one because of huge price drop going on.

Since that was my primary reason for buying the FS700, it's very disappointing that it is not mentioned anywhere that this does not work with high frame rates.

We got it for a mayor job in Los Cabos Mexico, excellent performance and very reliable, a little bit pricy, but I don't trust SDHC Memory

Another great Sony product -- as always with Sony, it's extremely high quality and works great. With the NX5U it allows me to shoot SD and HD simultaneously -- one to the SD chips, the other format to the flash drive. 128 GB lets you record many hours in the format of your choice -- great for event videography, such as taping a day worth of lectures at a college. Very fast data transfer to the computer for editing -- maybe twice as fast as from the SD chips on the same camera. Compared to shooting Sony DVCAM 184 tapes, this flash drive saves a bundle on tape costs. (Just be sure to back up to hard drives for future use). I was really wedded to tape and nervous about making the switch -- but I became a believer after the first project.
