A light Duty Cam with Great results!

I bought this little guy after a good amount of research. It had about everything I was looking for at a decent price point. It's light, quiet, has great video image quality, and does well in medium to low indoor lighting.. Battery life is ok, lasts about an hour and 30 minutes.. The cam can be powered up and operated with the included AC charger (has about a 7 foot cord) so that comes in handy if you set it up on a tripod while plugged in and filming. No worries of a dying battery there.. It doesn't come with an LED light for low light focusing, but it doesn't seem to realy need it. Once you power it on, it auto focuses pretty quickly and accuratly, even in low light. Still images snapped during video or stand alone are grainy and of lower quality, but, it IS a video cam and not a point and shoot camera.. The video quaility is fairly nice on its highest setting. User interface is very easy to operate and navigate. There is no touch screen on this model, but that can be a good thing as there's no worry of it going out on you or having dirt and oils smudging up the screen. The buttons used to operate the menue and other options on the screen are easy to use and easy to access. Zoom is pretty decent, you only lose focus when you get to close.. Audio pickup is fairly decent, Not HiFi, but still very clear and loud. The built in USB cord can be handy to those who would use it.. In short, if you are looking for a decent consumer camcorder that won't break the bank, but deliever great results, this is it!

The SonyHDR-CX190 High Definition Handycam Camcorder (Black) shoots Full HD 1920 x 1080/60p video and can capture 5.3 megapixel still images as well. It features 8GB of embedded flash memory, which provides up to three hours of recording. The camcorder is equipped with a back-illuminated Exmor CMOS sensor that's ideal for low-light situations. Plus, it features a wide angle Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens that supports 30x optical zoom and 300x extended zoom. There's also a 2.7" touch screen Clear Photo LCD display for easy recording and instant playback.

The HDR-CX190 comes outfitted with several video enhancing features. It has Intelligent Auto, which supports 60 different scene combinations, as well as SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode. Sony added a few playback and connection conveniences as well. The HDR-CX190 features Event Browse and a Highlight Playback function that creates movies with transitions and soundtracks for you automatically. With the HDR-CX190, you can use the Direct Copy feature to transfer your HD footage directly to a hard drive without even using a PC. However, if you do want to upload videos onto Facebook and YouTube, the camcorder comes with a built-in USB cable, as well as editing and application software.
