This belt is the best purchase! It gives me hands free when needed and I know my camera is safe. It takes weight off of my shoulders which easily causes me much pain. The camera is safely locked in place on my hip and at my hand.

Took a little getting used to hiking while having the weight of a telephoto camera on my waist but it has proven more comfortable and easy than having the camera slung over my shoulder. With an extended telephoto, the camera doesn't quite rest as described with the lens pointed back but it is still workable. Takes a little longer to release the latch and bring the camera up to my eye than before, so for bird photography that slight delay might be a factor.

I read tons of reviews and watched many videos about it. I also still have my Peak Design Pro ecosystem of camera support, but, I just have a tough time getting into the small slot on my hip on occasion and this one seemed much faster. It truly is. It holds my D800 WITH heavy additional battery pack AND Tamron 70-200 G2 HEAVY zoom lens. Whew!! Weight of everything does NOT bother me-I actually enjoy it! And the Spider holster handles it all without issue. The accompanying wide strong velcro belt is a MAJOR plus to the whole system. I do not have to have a camera support handing on my personal belt. Very happy!

Very secure fitting, used it on an outside shoot and made the work very much easier as I did not have to figure where to put camera while setting up and in-between settings.

Before buying this holster setup, I endeavored to find a workable strap for hiking expeditions (I take most of my shots on day hikes). But after trying all of the major brands, I found that every strap I tried would inevitably result in my camera swinging around clumsily. So, I bit the bullet and bought the SpiderHolster SpiderPro. Should've done this a while ago! The belt is less intrusive than I thought it would be, and I have no issues with my camera swinging around. Highly recommended.

I decided to use the Spider Holster because in weddings, carrying a camera for long hours with a strap was killing my back and shoulder. Now I have a much better support, carrying it in the hip, I can move without any restrictions, even in outdoor portrait sessions I can give better instructions on the poses with a better approach. I definitely recommend

I'm glad to have switch from a strap to a holster. First of all, I do a lot of weddings and using a strap with 70-200 lens becomes a burden at the end of the day. A friend introduced me to the Spiderpro holster and I gave it a shot. I really like how it feels comfortable to the body especially that the weight is distributed to your hips and not to your shoulder. Also, there is less of a swing of your camera which often times accidentally clicks the modes of the lens I.e AF/MF and IS on/off. Lastly, overall It feels secure when you are moving around. I would definitely recommend this product.

The SpiderPro Holster is one of the greatest products made for a photographer. After years of hanging a camera around my neck I have developed a little arthritis in my neck and was advised by my physician to stop carrying the camera that way. I saw this device, bought it and tried it and I love it. All the weight is carried on my hip and the camera rides easy and can easily be accessed when I need it. This is the best purchase I have made. it attaches easily to a trip on once you screw in the tripod attachment. You do need to keep watch that the camera mount doesn't begin to loosen up, but since the wrench is contained in the bracket you can tighten it up wherever you are.

I have only worn this belt a couple of times now but it is easy to use and most important it takes the weight off my back and shoulders. I have attached a strap to my camera just as a precaution but I'm a belt and suspenders kind of guy.

have used this holster for two weekends now and love it. I have a canon 7d with battery grip. Bought the 70-200 f/2.8L IS 11 when I bought the holster. It's a heavy package, camera,lens,and holster weigh 6 lbs. Takes some getting used to having all that weight on your hip but can't imagine carrying that combo any other way. After a while the weight becomes less of an issue as you get used to carrying it around. Love the instant access I have to the camera and having both hands free while on the trail. Leave the holster in the unlocked position and camera slides in and out of catch effortlessly. With camera facing to the rear lens is protected while walking in brush and being parallel to the ground no problem bending or kneeling down with camera in holster

Great way to hold full frame camera with pro glass. Weight is much better carried on the hip than around the neck or on shoulders. Easy access to remove and replace into holster. Steel mating materials inspire confident hold.

The holster greatly reduces the fatigue associated with carry a camera for an extended period of time. Getting the load off my neck or shoulder and onto my hip is great. Also, it eliminates camera swing out when bending over.

Would have loved to keep this and use it but it was way too heavy when u use it with a Dslr. Maybe good for a guy but for a female it is just too heavy.

My wife gave this to me as a gift for my birthday and I used it for the first time to cover a charity fundraiser that was very fast paced. I used two Canon cameras with flashes attached to both. (Canon 5d Mark II with a Canon 70-200 and the other a Canon 40D with a Canon 24-105). This set up allowed me to use the long lens for shots across the room and the short lens for people that walked up to me and wanted a close up of them. I never once felt like the clip would not hold or even questioned if it was latched. I some times would set the latch to lock it and some times set it for one handed release. Paired with a sling backpack, this holster is exactly what I needed for photographic opportunities requiring two feet to get there. Whether I'm hiking trails or simply out with family, the SpiderHolster keeps my camera easily ready for use. Before the holster, once the camera was out of my backpack it typically was hanging from my neck. On a hike, I find a hanging camera quickly becomes uncomfortable. Putting it away means missing shots. The SpiderHolster is comfortable and reliable. The metal clasp securely holds my camera and I have no fears of it failing.

This is the best camera carrying system I've ever used in my twenty six years as a full-timem professional photographer as it completely eliminates camera straps altogether (and also transfers the weight of the camera/lens/flash from your neck and upper body to your hip/s). The Spider Pro is ergonlmically superior to any strap-oriented camera carrying system made as it puts the weight lower on your body, and keeps your camera/s securely attached to your hip/s until needed for use. Because of this, the camera can no longer act as a "pendulum" uncontrollably floating away from your body as you move and occasionally banging into door frames, etc. (I cracked the front lens element of my Canon 70-200mm lens a couple of years ago when using a fancy strap system when the camera floated away from my body and the lens element bumped into the corner of a table at a wedding reception). This is a fabulous and very innovative product (exceptionally well made and secure!).

My camera with the big lens weighs 6.1 pounds, which you really don't want hanging around your neck. The SpiderHolster is just the trick. I've walked for 7 hours with the camera on my hip and lived to walk another day. The holster latch is very secure, and the camera hangs upside down with the lens facing backward, giving some protection, and allowing you to carry it with a flash attached. Of course the camera is exposed, and you'll have other gear to carry, so you'll want a camera bag or backpack too. I'm very happy with a Lowepro backpack, which comes with its own rainjacket and will hold a laptop as well. Mine is the Pro Runner 350 AW; there's bigger and smaller models as well.

I've purchased a bunch of straps available to use for different reasons. Each assignment has it's particular challenge that a well made camera support can be a big asset. I own the Cotton carrier, the Black Rapid series, and the Camera Slinger dual and single, but this Spider Pro takes the cake. This thing is so over the top. I'm using it to support a 1DMKIII with a 300 2.8 hanging from the belt with one stainless steel "Pin" screw in stud that does not feel like it is up to the task. I just received the product and will be giving it a full work out. Out of the box the belt or holster is made very well -- the belt will never just fall off as it has redundency protection. The "Pin" and the spring loaded holster do though worry me. The latch requries a upward force to allow the pin to release from the holster at the same time the camera is being lifted out. The release latch is very easy to move--too easy! It does not have a lock position to let the wearer feel secure that it can not release on it's own. These are just my concerns-- For my first outing I'll make sure the camera strap is either in my hand or looped through the belt--I'll update this after the workout. The consruction of the belt, holster and attachment plate are superior to anything I've seen just need to build some trust to hold my $7,000 piece of hardware
