Steve Chill is staff member who knows the inventory. I explained what I was looking for and he immediately helped me order it. All other web sites said the lens hood was discontinued and no longer in stock. Not Steve at Adorama. The price was fair and item was shipped immediately.

In the past when I have needed to replace lens hoods, I've looked for the best deal and they have always been junk. This is a direct replacement and works perfectly. I've learned my lesson.

This lens hood completes the lens. After having to go without the original lens hood, I am so happy to have this OEM replacement. The one drawback I find is that I fear placing it off-thread slightly and cracking this one like my last one was. Don't get in a rush putting it on quickly. Take a moment and make sure the threads are lined up before twisting. This is my only complaint. I don't use the lens without the hood.

This was a replacement for one that was lost on a shoot. It took a while to find the right one as there is a very similar item for a newer lens that is too small.

The product description is incomplete. It should indicate that this shade is for the older version of the 18-270 lense (72mm). It doesn't fit the most recent version with a 62mm lens diameter. This specificity will help the consumer get the right size from the beginning. Will return the product. Otherwise, the product is fine.
