Used Think Tank Production Manager 40 V2 Rolling Gear Case

Great bag - this is my 3rd one. We fly an average of 110 flights per year with our equipment cases, and "the coffin" is always right around 70 pounds, and my last one survived over two years! Worth the cost to have a semi-hard case with such great build quality that can take a beating. The redesign on the V2 looks like it has a much beefier wheel assembly, and the addition of the aluminum stays should help when it takes big hits from the baggage handlers. Time will tell. I'm taking off a star only because they removed one of the side handles on the new version, and added a pocket with an expansion strap; likely to get ripped or torn off courtesy of the baggage handling, and we really miss having handles on both sides for loading in/out of vehicles. Also worth mentioning that their customer service has always been amazing, and they've sent me replacement wheel assemblies when needed. Please bring back the other handle on the next version!

I love this bag. It is sturdy and looks great. I purchased this to replace a Manfrotto one that is very similar, but unfortunately I had gone through 3 of those bags over the course of about 9 years. The construction of this bag (thinktank) appears to be superior (love the wheels and frame), however I had to send back my first one after a month of use because the material started to separate at a seam. Thinktank was great with this replacement. Recently, I discovered another tear in the fabric of the newest bag after only about 4 months of use. The material doesn't look to be the same as what is on my Airport Security bags (I have 2 of these, and one has been abused for almost 15 years with no tears or rips) I want to recommend this bag and I can do that, but just know that this $600+ bag can still have some issues.

Picked up V1 in 2017, and traveled around the States. I've packed it to the brim at 80-90 lbs. 4 light stands or 2 light stands and an Elinchrom softbox. 2-3 Elinchrom lights, 50-foot extension cord, gaffer tape, cables, Paul C buff batteries, and chargers for all. Whatever the job, I take what I need in my PM-40. I walk to the airport, laptop case resting on top of my International V1., in one hand, the PM-40 in the other to check bags in, and a gym bag for clothes around my back. Granted the TSA wasn't very kind to my equipment in any country but it is what it is. The case keeps going. When placed on a Rock & roller cart, it becomes a portable workstation with a tethered laptop. The client can now see their images from the posh media station. Your thoughts can tell you what you can do with your Production Master 40.

As someone who travels quite a bit for video shoots, packing and worrying about gear getting damaged, or left at home (not-packed) was always a nightmare. This bag has solved almost all those issues! It fits: 3x Amaran 200x Lights, 4x Stands (various sizes), a K-Tec Boom, 2x Small Benro Tripods, 2x Umbrellas, 1x Barndoor, some Stingers & XLR Cables, 2x Grip Heads, a Matthews 36x24 Road Rags Kit, backup 5-in-1 reflector and handful of other small items. I can usually roll into any small corporate shoot with just this (and a camera backpack) which has made packing/prepping and arriving on set + setting up, so much easier! I can't rate it highly enough. Everything is snug and secure, and I'm confident nothing will be damaged. Just knowing everything (grip and light-wise) is in one bag, is such peace of mind. Note, it's usually oversize and overweight for airlines, so do your research on costs associated there.

Love this bag. Built quality is amazing. The wheels are much improved from older model. I wish the pockets in the lid were alittle bigger (very flat). Also interest to see how the large zipper holds up to air travel. So far so good. Again the quality of the materials are better than any bag I have owned.

I purchased the Production Manager 40 as a companion for the Production Manager 50. The smaller size is perfect for light stands and smaller items that I use for video shoots. No more hauling multiple equipment bags. Now I just pull these cases as they roll right along with me.

Love how i can take my camera bodies, lenses, lights, softbox and audio gear in one gear. I've owned an airport security bag for over 5 years and touch-wood its still going strong. The Production Manager 40 seems to be atleast as tough as that so this should also last a while. Love the amount of dividers and various configurations that are possible with this bag.
