Did a test shot. WB set to sun. Focus set to manual. Aperture set to f/16. ISO set to 200. Mounted on tripod with shutter release cable. No filter - the shutter speed was 1/30 sec. With filter, shutter speed 2.5 seconds. Approx 6x exposure time, which matches advertised ratio of 1:128. HOWEVER, the shot with the filter had a decided greenish-aqua color cast. This color cast can be removed easily in post processing.

Using it as a standalone and also in combination with another ND filter to further increase the stops; minimal tint

These are the #1 piece of gear to grab for shooting on DSLR's during bright, sunny lighting conditions. The whole series of IRND filters by Tiffin allow you to shoot at shallow depth of field to create that iconic, filmic look.

Last year, I was selected as a beta tester for the new Nikon PocketWizard system, but I've been waiting until now to get my hands on the production models. Was it worth the wait?

Are you seeking a reliable solution to control exposure and achieve neutral color in your photography Look no further than the Tiffen 4.5" Round IRND 0.3 Filter. This high-quality, durable filter is an effective tool for photographers who need to manage light exposure and maintain color balance under challenging lighting conditions.
The neutral density aspect of this filter provides a 1-stop exposure reduction, enabling you to work with longer shutter speeds or wider aperture settings. This feature is particularly beneficial for landscape and portrait photography, as well as low-light scenarios, where it can help produce brighter images with a shallower depth of field.
In addition, the filter's infrared attenuation is designed to manage wavelengths above 700nm. This is a crucial feature for photographers working with CCD and CMOS sensors, where infrared pollution can potentially disrupt color balance. The IR design operates proportionately to the density value, ensuring consistent, neutral results across varying lighting conditions.
Constructed from water white optical glass, this 4.5" round filter is versatile and suitable for use in select matte boxes and sunshades. It also incorporates Tiffen's ColorCore technology, ensuring maintained clarity and quality in every shot.
In summary, the Tiffen 4.5" Round IRND 0.3 Filter is a reliable, effective, and versatile tool for photographers seeking to enhance their control over light exposure and color balance.
