If you are like me and don't like to use filters on your lens, a clear protection glass filer is a must. I wish I would have taken a picture of the one I had on before this. It was looked like it got hit with a hammer. I'd rather replace a filter than a lens. Tiffen has always served me well. As has Adorama.

Excellent piece of glass. I use quality protection on all my lenses, and this Tiffen works great. I’ve put it on and have not noticed any difference in quality. That’s how I like my protective filters, put it on and forget, until there is an accident :-)

Just perfect ! the cover is not at all bulky and has done its job brilliantly. I am using it on my SoloShot3. Easy to put on, its “insurance” for me… I can be quite a klutz on certain days, especially when setting up video for recording. I liked it so much I gave one to a friend for a gift.

I just screw the clear glass protection filter onto the lens and then discard the lens cap. I've not gotten more than one image because I put the camera to my eye and the view was comletely black.

Couldn't be happier with this. Doesn't affect image quality to any extent noticeable with good lenses on a Nikon D300. Put a filter on all lenses that you use, and only use top-quality filters, so as not to degrade image quality. Use Tiffen or other name-brand filters. You get what you pay for.

I bought this, obviously, to protect my expensive glass. The "coolness factor" of keeping the flower-type lens hood on my camera had worn off. The only real reason it stayed on so long was for protection anyway. Besides it was becoming obtrusive.

Once, while photographing little kids, and one little boy reached up and smeared his gooey little fingers accross my expensive glass, I learned to always add protection as soon as you remove the lens from it's box.
