Excellent lens.....with a little bit of work

Pros: This lens is SHARP sharp. Great colors, works wonderful for extreme close ups of small objects, does well for landscape views. Small, well built, has a nice focus throw, and the electronic aperture control is super convenient. Cons: Heavy vignette in the corners until stopped down pretty far. Comes out in post well enough, but its not saving me any time having to correct the corners of just about every shot I take.

A Little Quirky But A Well Built Ultra-Wide Lens.

I found 10mm to be far too wide to suit my purposes so I did not keep this lens too long. I will say the the build quality and the materials used are top notch, every bit as good as my Leica, Zeiss, and Voigtlander M-mount lenses. For a manual focus lens, the Laowa 10mm f2 MFT lens is a little quirky. Apparently, to keep the size down, Venus eliminated the aperture ring and gave the lens electronic contacts so the aperture can be set by your MFT camera. An added benefit is an exif that shows at actual aperture setting instead of f1.

My favorite wide-angle prime for MFT cameras

This is a fantastic wide-angle lens for MFT cameras. I am typically working as a camera operator and I wanted to be able to do take photos behind the scenes. For this purpose, it has been great. The F2 aperture and small size make it easy to bring onset and the 20mm ff eq is my preferred taste for a wide-angle (much wider and you get too distorted). As advertised the sun stars on this lens are great when stopped down, but my one concern for people looking to buy this lens is that it has a central milky/rainbow flare which some people might not like (I personally like the character and it goes away around f2.4 so not a big deal). Other features include a great minimal focusing distance and electronic connections with the camera (aperture control and stabilization communication) are both welcomed features. If you need a small wide-angle prime and don't mind manual focus id highly recommend this lens

Your Vision In The Palm.

Laowa 10mm f/2 Zero-D MFT is an ultra-wide & ultra-fast prime lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of around 20mm ( 96° Angle of view ). With the enthusiastic response for the Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT and 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D, we decided to take a step forward to a longer focal length but retain and further refine the outstanding optical design.

light and compact lens

Light & Compact.

The 10mm is assembled with a CPU chip and motor which the photographers can adjust the aperture via the camera body. The focus magnifier will be triggered for easier focus while rotating the focus ring.

fast aperture

Fast Aperture.

Designed with the ultra- fast f/2 aperture, sharper images can be obtained in dimly lit settings which is advantageous in nightscape shooting and astrophotography. It also provides a greater flexibility in camera setting like maintaining a low lSO in low-light condition.

Zero Distortion.

Being the second MFT lens in the line-up of “Zero-D”, it retains the excellent performance on the optical distortion control, which is commonly found in ultra-wide-angle lenses. This lens would be perfect for architectural shooting.
