Pretty good, not great

It comes packed well in a small padded box, and includes an Allen key to remove the tripod base. I found the fit to be nice and snug in both my camera and the lens (no wiggling), not sure if that will change over time. I was using a manual cinema lens (bought for use with EF lenses on BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k). I haven't experimented with autofocus lenses yet, but I've heard the BMPCC4K autofocus tends to be a little slow anyway (especially since I'm used to Canon's terrific autofocus) so I can't imagine this would improve it any. You WILL have to deal with the issue of the glass element being misaligned. Basically my first test run I could only focus my lens to infinity AND still had to be at least 8-10 feet from my subject; not to mention step to f8 or higher to even achieve focus. The cure for this is to rotate the element, and through trial and error test it with the camera until you have full range of focus. This may be 1/2 cost of metabones but for $150, still.

Fun and Functional

I purchased this out of curiosity but I have used it more than I imagined. While having the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L attached to my E-M1 looks a bit ridiculous the lens works perfectly and the images are great.

A good adapter value with some caveats

If it is so good, why did I only give it 3 stars?... 5 stars is for excellent which this adapter is not. I took off one star because like some other reviewers on the internet, I tried to contact support for questions, it has been over a week and they never responded. Customer service does not exist, set your expectations that they will not respond and others have said the same. So don't expect if you have problems with a certain lens that you send them email and they will fix the lens in a future update or even acknowledge you. The adapter does not work with most lenses with all features. If your lens is not on their list which is a short one, it may or may not work as far as AF. My EF100-400 II AF focus works fast but so fast the camera overshoots the target, then jumps back and over shoots again then starts making larger jumps back and forth into a death spiral until it is completely lost and gives up, That said sometimes it will focus but it is completely unreliable. 2 of my lenses are painfully slow to focus but it eventually gets there and are consistent, you could focus faster manually, Image stabilization is hit or miss and does not seem to be consistent. I found that on some lenses IBIS or Lens IS does not work unless you focus and take a picture, then it starts working, but you must half press, take a shot, then it works as long as the shutter remains half press. With some lenses, this work around works consistently, some it does not. I am using the adapter on a OM-D E-M1X with latest firmware updates. I have an old Sigma 15mm 2.8 diagonal fisheye. The EF-M2 II adapter and the M1X focus the lens better than my R5 can with the RF adapter, This lens is unusable on the adapted Canon R5. So with the EF-M2 II it is a mixed bag. If you only are using one lens and it works well, you will be very happy, if you are using a number of lenses, some will work some may be slow or IBIS/IS will not work or work inconsistently. On Olympus, you need to set the focal length in mm in the settings for the best chance for IBIS to work on the lens correctly. Also, I have adapted a Manual Pentax Super Takamur 50mm 1.4, and a Helios 44-2 58mm F2 from the screw in mount to EF, which work on the R5. They do not work at all on this adapter and the Oly M1X, you get a black screen and you can not take a picture period. Same thing with Lensbaby EF lenses, black screen there too, does not work at all. There is a work around, you have to tape over all the contacts on the EF-M2 II and then it will take pictures and black screen is gone but you risk damage to the camera contact numbs. So I subtracted a point for inconsistency and for not working with manual lenses that have no electrical contacts in them. I have not tested all my lenses that I have had the adapter for 12 days. I have 30 days to test it. At this point, enough lenses work good enough to my picky satisfaction that I am keeping the adapter. Though not on Viltrox supported camera list my Canon 400 2.8 II and 600 F4 II both worked though AF was slower than the Canon R5 but I think you could get birds in flight with some success. I am not going to test this because I did not buy the adapter to do BIF. Buy a native 4/3rds lens for that. With these two lenses you must take a picture first and continue to hold the shutter button half press then the lens IS will work well. I bought the M1X just to play around with Live composite, light painting and other fun stuff, and they are dirt cheap to buy used now days.

Adapter fits too loose

I bought this product to adapt my Sigma 18-35 lens to my Lumix GH5. This should work because the Sigma is an EF mount lens but while the adapter fits to the camera, the lens does not fit to the mount at all as it should.

Great adapter for mounting Canon EF to m43

Having kept some Canon glass, I?ve always wanted to reuse them on my Olympus OMD cameras. The Viltrox adapter allowed me to adapt them easily. A few words of caution though. The adapter will not fit the older OMD cameras (em1 mk1, em5 mk1); the notch above the lens is too low and when you attach the adapter to the camera, it will not lock in. The adapter works great on my EM1x. Also out of the box, the Viltrox may not focus to infinity. Fortunately this is an easy fix as all you have to do is rotate the lens element and test until you achieve focus. Lastly, make sure to update the adapter. After doing all those, it was a joy to be able to use my old canon lenses on my Olympus. Focusing as far as I can tell is a little slower and hunts a little more, but it works. A huge plus is that you get that speed boost because if the adapter. For example if your lens has an aperture of 2.8, with the speed booster it?s now a 2.0. Overall I would recommend the Viltrox adapter.

Very good booster adapter for my Canon lens to 4/3 camera

Very well built adapter! I already had a Kipon adapter but the price of this one is better. Not only that, the booster lens somehow allow continuous focusing seems better. I am attaching an image taken with this booster /adapter using my Canon 500mm F4 IS - Olymus OMD-EM1 Mark II + Viltrox booster adapter + Canon 1.4X III + Canon 500mm F4 IS - Handheld shot!

Great Adapter

Just purchased a gh5 and sigma 18-35mm lens. This adaptor works great and fits snug. The added stops are very helpful.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

You get what you pay for. It?s flimsy on my Gh4 and BMCC 4k. When you use follow focus the lens move as you focus. Sometimes it freezes up on my GH4. It got stuck on my GH4 and had to take it apart to remove. Some of these reviews should be verified.

Occasionally freezing and error message when using sigma 18-35 with G9 & G7

Overall this product does the job for me, however there are a few issues that I?d like to address. I got this adapter so I could use a Canon Sigma 18-35 with my LUMIX G7 and G9. On the G9 it works about 99% of the time, the camera occasionally freezes and I have to remove the battery to reset it. This is rare and doesn?t happen often. The G7 is a bit more finicky. There is much more wiggle room between the viltrox, camera body and sigma lens. If the lens is twisted independently of the viltrox adapter, or the viltrox adapter is twisted independently of the camera body an error message stating that the lens is not equipped properly will pop up and I?ll have to turn the camera off and take the lens off and put it back on. This happens maybe 10% of the time and can be obnoxious, but it is not a deal breaker for me, but be forewarned that this adapter can have its flaws.

Good when it?s not freezing up the camera

So far so good... sort of. It?s good when it works, but the camera usually freezes up about once or twice a session if I?m doing any adjustments to the focal length, and I have to remove the battery. When that?s not happening, it looks good, although going from a 12-60 to the shorter reach has been a hard adjustment. Also, I?ve heard the freezing issue occurs with the Metabones.

IMPRESSIVE QUALITY

I bought this to mount my Sigma 18-35mm on my GH5 and I couldn’t be happier. The build quality is great. It has a little bit of wiggle to it but that would be the only thing I could say I don’t love about it and that’s not even a big deal. Compared to the steep price of the metabones you can’t go wrong with the Viltrox.

Works perfectly for portraiture

Works perfectly for my usage. I used with a sigma 18-35 f1. 8. Autofocus is spot on accurate. I use it to shoot portraits so I am not exactly taxing it's C-AF abilities but for portraiture , works perfectly.

This adapter will do

I bought this because I switched from owning Canon to BMPCC4K. I have nothing but Canon lenses and didn't want to go through the process of selling and starting over. So I bought this to be able to use those lenses. The adapter is what everyone says it is. It doesn't feel cheap and it works as it's supposed to. I will say the little flaw that I found in it is my 24 mm lens does not look good under 2 stops, the image is very soft until you go 2 stops and up. My other lenses seem to work just fine. I do feel a little tiny bit of play from the adapter to the camera. Other than these couple of issues I've discovered, its a great adapter for the price point I got it for so I can't really complain. The delivery is my biggest complaint, luckily my neighbor is trustworthy and brought me my package.

Viltrox beats meta bones

I've always been a Viltrox fan, not only because of the superb glass quality, but also because you offer top-notch gear at an affordable price point. Us filmmakers are always trying to stretch budgets, and Viltrox never disappoints. Definitely prefer this speedbooster over pricey meta bones.

Fit and operated as expected. There have been some reviews stating that there is some give in operation. This adapter has zero wiggle. I am using the adapter in conjunction with a a Black Magic 4K and the Nifty Fifty.

I purchased this product without doing much research because it was on the Deal of The Day special and I was interested to try it out.
