Viltrox L-116T - a solidly made and easily adjustable photography light.

The Viltrox L-116T seems nicely and solidly made. I did have to purchase a Sony battery and charger to operate the light - I failed to read the fine print that a battery wasn't included. The light is easy to use and adjustments to both brightness and color temperature are intuitive. I'll be using it primarily as a light source for a slide duplicator - to provide the even lighting to illuminate and photograph my slide collection.

If you need an LCD panel of this size and brightness, it does what you need. Just beware the additonal purchases you'll need to use it.

The lack of a DC power supply is pretty weak. Otherwise it does what I got it for, provide quality light for video conferencing. Of course in addition to buying a DC power supply (~$6-8) you also have to get a stand or boom of some kind to mount it on (>$30), unless you are getting this for photography in which case you probably have one already. The fact that the intensity can't be reduced below 20% is another less than stellar aspect. The larger VL200T version is a better bargain, IF you need that much light - it's a lot bigger/brighter than the 116T - as it includes a DC power supply and a remote control.

Hard to believe.

First item I have ever received without power supply. This had neither a power cord nor a rechargeable battery nor even a way to put in disposable batteries. Amazing.

No power included

This might be implied by the product images, but I did not realize that thus unit is sold without a battery, or a power supply. This explains the price also. It is very disappointing that I can't use it out of the box. This detail should be called out in the product description so that the consumer can buy the necessary parts and not receive a product that isn't usable.
