Beautiful and Perfect for LX3
This finder is really well made. I originally purchased the Panasonic viewfinder for my LX3. The Panasonic version really didn't conver the 24mm angle like it says, so I ordered this Voitlander 21mm. Coverage is almost spot on! You will have to sacrifice on the flash not being able to open since the finder is wide. It's made or hard plastic and solid glass.
I tried the viewfinder out for a few days but realized it's still not a rangefinder camera. There really is no REAL practical use for a viewfinder in a point-and-shoot camera like the LX3. It's a nice conversatin starter and fun to use in bright light, but still, you are better putting your money in other things.

perfect for my panasonic LX-3
I bought this viewfinder for my Panasonic LX-3 which I wanted to use as a rangefinder B/W machine. This view finder perfectly sits on my Lx-3 hotshoe. The LX-3 has a 24mm wide angle lens and the viewfinder is 21mm - this additional view allows me to keep an eye on things happening outside my frame.
I have nothing but praises for this voigtlander view finder. Its made out of durable plastic and has got a bit of heft to it because of the glass elements. The distortion is well controlled and the framing bright lines allow correct composition.
