My favorite air gun scope

I have this scope mounted to my Air Arms TX200 Air rifle. The Diamondback is in my opinion the perfect scope for my needs. It can focus down to 10 yards which is hard to find in a scope. The first focal plane allows me to adjust the scope power settings without affecting the sight in. I mostly keep it on 12 power but if I need to shoot a chuck in the eye at 60 yards I can zoom in.

Great scope for the Price

Good glass, FFP, Prive and Vortex VIP warranty were the reasons I chose this scope for my 300 Win Mag. The only complaint I have about it are the turrets. They are a little sloppy on this scope and the Zero reset is always off by a half click which always has me worried if I am truly back at Zero. The scope has held up well to the 300 win mag recoil even with heavy loads! You can beat this for the price! I gave 4 stars due the sloppy turret adjustments.

WOW

Slapped this badboy on top of my new Savage 110 Hunter Long Range Rifle in .308 with the Vortex High Rings. Once we bore sighted it, even with a 20 MPH crosswind at 100 yards, I was able to stack 2 of the 3 shots and the third was still really close. Then I took it out to the woods and got a doe with the new setup. I'll tell you, I have had a 4x12x40 Bushnell for years on my Mossberg ATR100. I won't knock it because I have killed many deer with it. However, this scope makes that one truly obsolete. I did not realize the difference between them until I got it back out and shot it. Looks like I will be getting some more Vortex scopes for it and my Marlin 30-30.

Replaced my Athlon, so far so good!

Bought the Diamondback 6-24 to replace an Athlon Argos that couldn't handleore than 10 rounds of 300 Win Mag. If you struggle with illuminated reticle in FFP, that is because the reticle separates to allow the light through, so go non-illuminated. This will help immensely for folks with prescription glasses. Mounted it yesterday and ran it today with 25 rounds of 190gr. Federal 300WM. So far, so good! FFP always fades in field of view/focus at 24x and beyond, buyt this was much clearer than the Athlon...and kept its center punch 100 yard zero. Hey Vortex, those add-on magnification flip levers need to be an included item with your scopes since the adjustment dials are crazy stiff.

Where's 3.

Diamondback Tactical -Great Scope at a Great Price

I bought this just before Christmas to mount to my Ruger Precision 6.5 Creedmoor rifle, and Oh Boy what a great combination. I used a laser light round to get my initial alignment, then spent about 5 rounds at 50 yards, and three rounds at 100 yards to dial it in. Wow, the outcome was pure joy! Four rounds at 100 yards within a .705" pattern. Just made me smile...a lot!!

Not a good scope.

I bought this scope 5 months ago and have been disappointed in it. It is not a clear scope and will not hold zero.

Given the price it's better than you might think

I have been using my Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 atop a .22LR regularly for a few months now. It has surpassed my expectations, regardless of what the English (wet) weather can throw at it. The turrets are good and positive and it tracks well. O.K., it could do with a zero stop, but you get what you pay for. Optically it's not in the class of my Zeiss or S&B scopes ... but it is pretty good quality and I think that it represents good value for money. Add the superb warranty and the scope only gets better value.

Unreliable on 308

The features of this scope was what I was looking for- ffp, moa, the reticle, tactical open turrets, etc. The 308 rifle had a PST sfp mrad that shot great but I wanted moa. Initially, the Diamondback Tactical zeroed fine, shot good groups (sub moa but after a short period of time, groups opened up to 5 moa. I checked everything in my setup (loose rings, base, etc.), tried different ammo but it never came back. Finally put the PST back on and sub moa was back. Sent the scope in and it was replaced. Customer service and warranty are awesome! Second scope was the same...good in the beginning and then fell apart. That was sent back and repaired. I cannot trust this on that rifle so it will be getting sold. I'd have liked to have traded it in with Vortex and upgraded (me paying the difference) but that's not an option available with Vortex. Customer service gets 5 stars- good people. Scope features- 4 (no zero stop available) Glass and reticle- 4 stars. Reliability- 0. There is no way I could trust this after having 2 fall apart in less than a year on a bench rest (bipod) rifle. Watching a zero wander and adjustments not consistent after a short period of time left me guessing on where the next shot was going. Sorry Vortex...I'm breaking up with this scope...

I've had this on my .224 Valkyrie for about a year now and it's awesome. lacks a bit in the eye relief department but other than that it's a fantastic optic... especially for the price!

Only good 6x24x50 first focal plane scope under500

I was looking for a scope that could make the 1000 yard shot I had dreamed of but my budget isn’t 1000 dollars I looked around wanting a ffp scope that had 24x magnification and used a mill dot style reticle this scope delivered it turned my 30-06 bolt action into a true precision instrument this scope has quality glass the turrets track perfect passed box test with ease and the reticle was so much more that I even thought I could afford for 399.99 I got a scope that performs like 700-1400 scope and I know I’ll have it forever because vortex stands behind there products. This scope is a huge upgrade over my crossfire2 but don’t get me wrong that crossfire2 has been just as reliable just less features

Scope is Made in China

This is another classic example of an American company having a product made in China. What happened to American Pride?

Vortex 4ever

I have always heard great things about Vortex scopes but never made the purchase until here recently. I have always went with Bushnell and Nikon until I bought my first 6.5 Creedmoor and decided to go with the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6x24x50. I was amazed at the clarity of the glass and the ease of use during my zero. I skipped the boresight process due to technical difficulties (dead batteries). I bought a few boxes of Hornady Black 140 gr BTHP and went to the range. I mounted the Diamonback on a Ruger precision rifle with Vortex medium rings. The first few shots were high to the right but using Vortex reccomendations in their reticle manual, I was able to dial it in very quickly on the next shot group. I will definitely buy another Vortex in the future.

Disappointed

I bought this 3 weeks ago. I have it mounted to my tikka t3x tac A1. With the 30mm scope rings extra high. And the elevation only gave me 28 moa clicks and maxed out at 422 yards. I’m disappointed in that. Is there a spec I’m missing?

Nice Scope

Bought the scope about a month ago and am happy just wish the elevation turret and wind turret aligned with the zero marks when you have adjusted it to a new zero.

Best value in FFP scopes.

I have purchased 2 of these 6-24×50 Diamondback Tactical scopes in the last year. They are not only within my budget but worth more than I paid for. The glass is clear, retical is very useful and user friendly ( if I can use it, anyone can). It holds zero no matter the load I'm using (308 win). The parallax adjustment is a great feature and the one I like the most. Turrets are easily adjusted but stay firm in place. Would I recommend it? Yes, I recommended it to myself and bought a second one.. It is an incredible value at the price point., and the first focal plane makes it perfect for me.

Love it!

I bought this scope about 2 weeks ago and was finally able get it out to the range this weekend. The rifle it sets on is a 6.5CM ruger american hunter. This is my first rifle built with long range shooting in mind. Before this rifle I had never shot over 300yds. Yesterday was my third time out with the rifle and first time out with the new optic from vortex. With a spotter and a few adjustments I had no issues landing 3 shots I a row at 800yds on an 18" gong with slight side winds. Love the scope and for the price point you can't not love it. Only thing I can find that I don't like about it is that it doesnt have zero stops. Other than that I love this optic!

Best scope I've bought yet!

I've owned and was very familiar with AR rifles, since I've done a few years as an Army Infantry soldier deployed to the Sandbox. So, I'd always wanted a good precision rifle and finally was able to get a Remington 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I did my research and found some great reviews on this scope from Vortex. ALL WERE RIGHT!! Great quality and clarity. Zeroed in so tight, at 100 yards, that I'm averaging sub 1/2 inch groups. You will not be disappointed!

1st longrange gun

I just purchased a bergara 6.5 B-14 HMR and my dealer highly recommended the diamond back said it was a lot of scope for a little money. I can’t wait to hit the range next week. I love the ruggedness and the warranty and the accessibility to lots of info with vortex.

Absolutely Amazing Scope

Used it today for the first time. Have this mounted in a QD mount, so I was able to use the scope across several different calibers. 223, 224 Valk, 6.5 Grendel, and 308 Win. Very good quality clear glass and the parallax adjustment makes this scope really easy to zero, quickly. I was more than pleased with the results I got from using this scope. Everything and more I could ever want from a scope in the price range. I'm very happy with my purchase and the VIP Warranty is the best in the biz. I have the MOA version. Thank you Vortex for making such a world class piece of glass for those of us that don't have thousands to spend on each scope we buy. Two HUGE Thumbs up and 5 BIG STARS

Perfect for a Precision .22 ...

Perfect for precision .22 when you don't want to break the bank (or take out a loan) I purchased a CZ 457 AT-One, and mounted this scope on top of the 419 rail, using some Vortex Precision low rings. After a quick leveling, took it to the range, and was able to see very clearly out to the 200 yard targets. Love the Reticle, its very similar

Hard to see the reticle.

I purchased this scope recently for my 338. It’s a great price for a FFP scope however I noticed When shooting at targets that’s darker in color it’s hard to see the reticle in relation to the target.

About Vortex Optics 6-24x50 Diamondback Tactical Series Riflescope, Matte Black with First Focal Plane EBR-2C MOA Reticle, Side Parallax Focus, Tactical Turrets, 30mm Center Tube

The first focal plane reticle, a feature ordinarily reserved for 4-figure-priced optics, allows shooters to use the information-packed EBR-2C reticles for ranging, holdovers or windage corrections on any magnification. Housed inside its durable, one-piece aluminum tube is a 4x optical system delivering excellent edge-to-edge clarity and sharp resolution.

Exposed elevation and windage turrets are low profile enough to stay out of the way in packing situations, but offer the quickness, ease and precision of dialing accurate shots at distance. A side adjustable parallax gives shooters peace of mind by removing parallax error from the equation from 10 yards to infinity.
