WD Blue 1TB
HP All in one never seemed up to speed and signing on just keep getting slower. Finally old hard drive gave in and produced a blue screen warning about the drive. I had previously removed my files that I wanted to keep and installed the drive. Couldn't have been easier. Literally 1screw. Reloaded Windows 10 pro and it is new running perfectly again. Very good price on the new drive( just built in 10/22). Thanks WD this saved a lot!

Love my new hard drive.

Blue is the staple & reliable workhorse!
Hard to review a specific drive after just weeks.. but ordering direct from WD was a great experience, and have always had good experiences with WD drives.. Usually slot the well-used drives for replacement every 5-6 years or so & have had no issues doing that.. Using the Blue HDD formatted APFS for a TimeMachine backup on my wife's computer, where most of her storage is Photos - which get stored on Apple.. So using the Blue HDD for TimeMachine in about a 4x of her total storage size. For TM can't go wring with HDD when SSD is still too much $$

Make sure that you order corectly.
The new external hard drive us working fine. I had a oroblem where i searched fir an external drive but there was an internal drive shown in the search engine. I was able to easily return the internal drive but tbe hassle was annoying.

Came completely dead. Tried it with 3 computers, different SATA cables, nothing worked. Sent it back and bought Seagate instead. Disappointing.

Good unit, good price, so far so good
Unit arrived on time, and was cloned (from an aging Seagate drive). Other than a perceived slowness in defrag (via IOBIT SmartDefrag) the unit is meeting my needs (in an older HP desktop)

It is a Hard Drive
I have had Western Digital hard drives for a long time and these are my go to for a large and affordable file storage drive. These are also great for barebones RAID 1 or 10 solutions for an affordable price point but I do not recommend these for 24/7 use in a NAS. The one thing I hope to see with Western Digital consumer hard drives in the future is the adoption of the NVMe 2.0 specification which helps to decrease the inefficiencies between different types of storage devices. Other than that, these hard drives are great for the price point.

HDD came damaged
HDD came damaged - cannot be initialized in the OS due a cyclic redundancy error. Sending back will cost more than the cost of the item, as I'm not in US currently.

So far so good (four months).
These have a reputation for a high failure rate, I haven't had either of my two die in four months. They may still fail at some point (always have a backup, you don't know you need it until it's too late), but so far so good; nothing exceptional but it is CMR (on the WD10EZEX).
