Currently using this to play a PF-800 turntable (yes, it's a vintage Yamaha classic) going through a cheaper nobsound preamp, and driving through ns-6490 speakers. It does what I need it to, though I have had it at times clip loudly on me at high volumes. I don't recommend this for that kind of listening with the kind of setup I have. Lol. However at a reasonably loud volume that doesn't blow out the neighborhood, it sounds nice.

I selected tuner because it has the AM band, AM reception in my hilly area is much better than FM that propagates only in a straight and unobstructed line of sight. I looked at Sony products, but none offers AM. With 8 Ohm speakers amplification is very good for the radio, little low for the tape deck that requires 70% plus setting. Despite the spec of 140W per channel the amplifier is under powered for any vinyl record player, plays low volume only at maxed out setting. This is why only 4 Stars. I was looking also at more expensive Yamaha R-N303, but with the same output specs, and I doubt this would make any difference with the record player.

I like the fidelity and balance of channels. It sounds better than the older Sony receiver that I replaced, even at higher volumes. I was driving 3-way Montgomery Wards speaker cabinets (each has a 15" woofer, with separate tweeter and midrange - around 1982). I also liked the ease of connecting to my phone or pc bluetooth. I am very pleased with the R-S202. #sweepstakes

I needed this receiver, so I looked online and found the Yamaha. I knew the name. I decided to buy it because the price was acceptable.

I have had the Yamaha Rs202bl for about 2 months now. I never get tired of the sound quality, and there have been no issues thus far with it. It functions as designed.

I purchased this to replace a Sony two channel stereo that was used for the speakers I installed throughout our house. This unit unboxed and set up easily. I appreciated the simple instructions-not necessarily for me but, for those whose expertise doesn't lie in electronics setup. The remote is also easy to use, with the buttons clearly marked. One thing I did notice is that, after about eight hours, the unit turned off on its own, so I had to turn it back on. I'm not sure what caused that. It wasn't overheated, as the volume level wasn't very high (not quite half). Other than that one instance, this unit has worked flawlessly. I love it! #sweepstakes

Purchased as a replacement amp for a home MIDI and digital audio studio, powering four 80 watts speakers (front and back pairs). Excellent sound quality with no buzz or hiss, and plenty of power for this small room. This amp saved me from replacing the speakers I like with powered ones. We'll continue to enjoy them and the amp for years to come.

Great basic reciever has great sound and very easy to use. The bluetooth is also a great feature. Using as a garage setup with four mains and a sub. Definitely can blare the neighbors out.

I paired this with 2 tall Polk speakers and had to find a subwoofer with the right connection. Sounds great!

I use this in a secondary system, mostly for FM radio, but all functions work very well.

I have one R-S202 in my house and another in my garage. I listen to music while I work, and this stereo meets my needs. With Bluetooth I can stream content from my phone. The remote control allows me to mount the garage unit out of harms way and still access its features.

I haven't owned a system that sounds this good since my old KLH Model 11 gave up the ghost many moons ago. I've hooked up this receiver to a used Yamaha CDC-675 and my spouse's old Technics turntable. The receiver was easy to setup and connect to all the other equipment. Its controls are well-placed and the remote is easy to operate. The unit's size is a good fit for our bookshelves. I have no complaints.

I need to listen to music daily. I sing along to Motown, Billie Eilish, Pretenders and 50s-80s rock bands. Sometimes I will sing while shopping in a store. It keeps me smiling.... Wet Willie said that!!!

A great value for the money. Easy knobs which means less time searching through menus. Has a very strong tuner which is why I bought it--that and Yamaha audio quality. The only Con is the lack of PHONO inputs. Otherwise, a great unit.

I listen to a FM classical music station; I get very good reception. My old records and CD's sound great. The manual doesn't explain all that I want to know about this product

I like this receiver. It brought me into the 20th century with the features it has and still allowed me to connect my turntable for my vinyl.

Very good entry level two channel receiver. Really needs a phone input. I miss the old Yamaha variable loudness. For what you're paying, though there's little to complain about. It does a good job. I've read many complaints about the volume control. Have to turn it up to 60 to hear it. So, turn it up to 60 . It's just how they're made. It's not hurting anything.
