This is an excellent, excellent prime 100mm. It’s sharp at f/2, but stop it down to f2.8 and above and it’s tack sharp. I have used it for landscape photography, and I only lost detail to the pixelation on my 24 MP D600. For portraits I found no haze, though you can buy a lens hood if you’re worried. At 100mm, I found f/5.6 to be the sweet spot—f/2 puts the tip of the nose and the ears out of focus: it’s too shallow a depth of field. Distortion and vignetting corrects perfectly in Lightroom with the Canon 100mm f/2 profile (though I found both the vignetting and pincushioning quite a nice effect for landscape). There’s nothing to dislike about this lens.

Slow auto focus. Didn't work with priority setting. Hunts and misses. Sending it back. Seemed the contrast was off too. cheap not always best.

This is a good lens especially at the very low price point. But the lens picks up extreme haze when using a flash/strobe.

Adorama did a superb job in sending my macro lens very quickly, shipping included. The lens was a very good quality alternative Canon substitute. The availability of cost savings products is much appreciated.

All aspects of this lens are very impressive, minus one - focusing using live view. It hunts like crazy when in live view. Other than that, it's an absolute bargain.

Featuring truly great build quality, EXIF and camera exposure mode functionality, a nine-blade aperture diaphram, and multiple coated glass elements, this telephoto lens is a fantastic addition to your gear bag.
This Yongnuo lens and Canon's own 100mm F2.0 both feature eight glass lens elements, have a maximum magnification of 0.14x, and an aperture range of F2 to F22. The Yongnuo lens arranges its elements in five groups while Canon's own model uses six; Canon's EF 100mm F2 USM also has eight blades in its iris, while Yongnuo uses nine for a smoother bokeh and more aesthetically-pleasing lens flare effects. With this lens you'll be able to focus as close as three feet away from your subject, both in manual focus mode and autofocus, and thanks to the multi-coated lens you'll get great color rendition and contrast.
