Working with the Canon C300 Mark II is not without headaches: depending on what lens you use, handgrip choices vary dramatically. In the handheld mode, I alternate between Canon Cinema Primes and “L” Series glass that require Zacuto’s handgrip extender for the C300 Mark II. But when I use Canon’s 18-80 CN-E zoom, the servo-grip instead attaches to a rosette extension. In both cases, however, my constant “security” handle is Zacuto’s Zgrip Z-Mount Zwivel attached to the operator’s side. Coming from the film world, I rarely used a two-grip system. But digital cameras have different ergonomic and balancing issues, and a 2nd grip is key to maintaining a secure way to stabilize the camera, while enabling the best operating habits.

I had the previous version, which was good. But this one has the two adjustment levers which allows you to adjust the handle angle and position independently. So much better when your rig is on your shoulder.

The Zacuto Z-HG-ZW Zgrip Z-mount Zwivel is an articulating handgrip that allows you to change the angle between two 15mm rods. You are provided with a 4.5" rod and a Z-mount Zwivel in the package. The zwivel is compatible with any 15mm rod with the quick-release handgrip and employs a single lever that controls both the 15mm rods. You can change the angle between the 2 rods by loosening the single lever. Adjustments to achieve the desired angle are possible via the separation between the parts induced by the integrated spring.
