One of the best 35mm lenses I have ever used, especially for the price. Very sharp throughout its aperture range.

Compact, nice build. The focusing tab is a little difficult to use compared to Leica but it’s less than half the price

I wanted to get a back-up 35mm lens to use with my Leica CL & M2. This lens is nothing short of astounding. It equals the performance of the Leica 35mm f/2.0 pre-asph Summicron. I have a Summicron, and I did side-by-side comparisons. The Biogon is extremely well built, with smooth focusing and f/stop detents. Small profile, slightly longer than the Summicron. Light-weight. I use this as an everyday, walkabout lens. I could easily use it as a travel lens. The f/stops are measured in 1/3rd settings. I shoot with B&W film, and do my own processing & printing. Negatives are sharp, with good contrast. I would recommend this lens w/out reservation.
