This is a fantastic paper. It produces beautiful range of tones. It is more cool than Ilford which I like. The price is unbeatable.

I have been using this paper for over a year now. I prefer the cool tones that it produces to the warmer tones of Ilford Fiber Base. I also feel like I can push it further. It's also more economical than other brands yet maintains quality.

I am photography student. We are advised by our teacher that this Adorama fibre based printing paper has same level quality as the one of Ilford but much cheaper in price. I compare the end result with my classmate's Ilford fibre paper, and found they are about the same. I am very pleased with my purchase.

The price is the best part. Plus, the quality is equal to other similar products.

As a college student, cost is always a huge factor. I was first reluctant to buying a cheaper paper, especially because all of my instructors insisted I buy Ilford or other "name brands". In this case, however, I found that the Adorama paper (8x10, fiber, glossy, double weight)performed equally as well as any other similar spec. paper I have worked with.

First, I purchased the RC Pearl Adorama paper as an inexpensive way to enlarge my prints to 5x7, and to decide which I wanted to further enlarge on fiber. I was thrilled with the results of the RC, as it also gives incredible depth (most people couldn't tell which was which when looking at my prints). I would compare the look of this (fiber glossy) when dry to that of the RC Pearl. They are incredibly close on the enlarger settings as well, even when I doubled my size, and almost doubled my time (double the time, minus about 20%), it didn't take much to get the fiber print out. The paper itself has incredible depth, has just a slight bit of warmth, but still great contrast... somewhere between Kentmere and Ilford. In comparison to ease of use, I would put it around Ilford, as Kentmere is a lot more sensitive to contrast adjustments. I selenium toned it once, and it was incredibly sensitive and fast reacting. It headed towards the purple side.

Adorama VGFB Gloss is a high speed variable contrast black and white enlarging paper with a double weight fiber base. The use of color filters permits selection of required contrast from a range of grades similar to that of graded papers, with the advantage to the user of reduced paper stock. A neutral image tone and a clean white base combine to give a high quality paper equally suitable for dish processing. The paper gives a consistent image tone across the grades and exhibits good sharpness.
This paper is designed for use with tungsten or tungsten halogen light sources. Other light sources may give different contrast values. Exposure of the paper is straight forward, depending on which filter system is in use. For Ilford Multigrade filters, grades 00 to 3 have the same speed (ISO P 250) and grades 4 and 5 require approximately twice the exposure. For the filter settings, grades 0 to 4 have the same speed (ISO P 320). Grades 00 and 5 require more exposure (ISO P 250). When no filter is used, the paper has a contrast of approximately grade 2 and a speed of ISO P 640.
Open only in a darkroom illuminated by safelights Ilford 904 or Kodak OC containing 15W bulbs or equivalent; red safelights may also be used. The safelights should be at least one metre from the paper at all times and good working practice of keeping exposure to safelight at a minimum should be adopted. Unused paper should be returned to its original packaging for storage.
