A nice economical paper that is easy to like. It has excellent DMax, excells with Split grade exposures. It handles much like a VC version of the old Kodak Medalist papers. it also works well with Polyphenol developers.

Fantastic for the price, really a steal. It's nice and contrasty, although it should be noted that the base color is slightly warm toned, almost sepia when compared to the other papers I use. By itself you wouldn't really notice, but next to a pure black / white it is noticably warmer

I've been a regular Ilford photo paper user and have tried their satin, pearl and glossy options. I decided to give Adorama pearl paper a try and I'm really happy with its great results!

I recomend a lot this paper, I develop in Dektol 1:4 for 2 min. doing split contrast printing, and it works very well, it shows a very nice range of tones.

A cheap alternative to Ilford Multigrade. I tested an image on both papers, and no one could be sure which was which.

This is a remarkably high quality paper considering the very reasonable price. For anyone trying to improve their darkroom printing, this paper lets you practice dodging, burning, toning and other techniques without going broke. I recommend it highly.

I chose this paper just to try it. It's half the price of most others and performs just as well. made me a believer and a continued buyer.

I'm enjoying using this paper. It makes prints I really like and it's about half the price of Ilford's comparable paper. Try it, you'll probably like it!

The paper is incredible especially considering the price! I will say though that the paper started to split or separate at the edges when I was done enlarging some photos, but other than that I would this recommend to a someone.

trim just 1mm from the 5 inch width and it fits a 5x7 film holder. No watermarks on back like all Adorama paper and it is still easy to tell the emulsion side from the back when loading in the darkroom. no loss of tone from the glossy version, I wonder if it in fact scans better without the reflective surface of a gloss paper.

I've had good success with this paper. Economical and consistent. It is a slightly thinner stock than equivalent Ilford papers but it's about 50% cheaper so you get what you pay for. It will produce good quality images.

I bought this kind of skeptical because it was cheaper than the paper other people in my class got. I have been using it for a couple weeks and I can't tell the difference. I really like the finish of my photos, and they look nice. I would definitely recommend this paper to someone else.

What a bargain!

I got this paper for a class I'm taking. At this price point, I expected the super thin student grade paper, and I really didn't need more than that for regular assignments. I thought I'd just buy some Ilford when I needed a better quality print. Boy was I surprised when I pulled it out and it was just as thick as Ilford. The pearl sheen is very nice and it's easy to discern the emulsion side under the safe light. Try this paper out, you won't be disappointed!
Adorama VGRC is a high speed, variable contrast, black and white enlarging paper with a medium weight, polyethylene coated base. The paper base is 190 g/m2 coated on both sides with 40 g/m2 of polyethylene giving a base weight of approximately 270 g/m2 and a thickness of approximately 245 microns. The silver halide emulsion has a silver content of approximately 1.5 g/m2.
Adorama VCRC gives a consistent image tone across all grades, exhibits excellent image sharpness and is available in Glossy & Pearl surfaces. The use of yellow and magenta colored filters permits selection of required contrast from a range of grades similar to that of graded papers. A neutral-cool image tone and clean white base combine to give a high quality paper equally suitable for tray or machine processing.
Adorama VGRC is designed for use with tungsten or tungsten halogen light sources, other light sources may give different contrast values. Exposure of the paper is straight forward, depending on which filter system is in use. For Ilford Multigrade filters, grades 00 to 3.5 have the same speed (ISO P250) and grades 4 and 5 require approximately twice the exposure. For the filter settings of table B, grades 0 to 4 have the same speed (ISO P320). Grades 00 and 5 require more exposure (ISO P250). When no filter is used, the paper has a contrast of approximately grade 2 and a speed of ISO P 640.
Open only in a photographic darkroom illuminated by standard OC or red safelights containing 15 watt bulbs or equivalent. The safelights should be at least 3 feet from the paper at all times and good working practice of keeping exposure to safelights at a minimum should be adopted. Unused paper should be returned to its original packaging for storage.
