This VC paper has produced very good results. I used Kentmere pan 400 film in a Leica m1 with a Jupiter 35mm lens to produce the photo's negative, which I printed on the Adorama VC paper without a filter. I didn't notice a difference between this paper and the Kentmere VC paper, which is more expensive.

I've been a regular Ilford photo paper user and have tried their satin, pearl and glossy options. I decided to give Adorama glossy paper a try and I'm really happy with its great results!

Bought Adorama RC paper mainly to print contact sheets. I reduce expenses by using less expensive paper for this purpose, and use more complex, expensive, and purpose-oriented paper for final prints. Works perfect for me.

The gloss doesn’t prevent good viewing and the paper produces consistent results.

Good quality for the price. It is great for novice photo darkroom.

Price to the ease of use is amazing! NOTICE: I'm a novice in the darkroom. I have some ilford that takes a lot more light to properly expose. With this, I can get the same exposure in about 1/4 of the time. That can either be a good or a bad thing depending on your use. The contrast is there when I want it and it's overall a great paper!

This Adorama paper is very high-speed -- I found myself stopping down the enlarging lens more than I do with Ilford paper. Nice contrast and overall image quality. A very good value

I've used this paper for around 20 years and will continue to do so for as long as it's made. One method I often use to bring out the best in it is to lightly bleach and then sepia tone it. After washing, immerse the print in a 1:20 selenium toner solution for a few minutes. The blacks turn truly black and the finished tone is pleasingly warm. Great paper.

The order I placed for darkroom supplies and film was filled completely and on time. I very much appreciate Adorama’s service and the fact that they offer a broad choice of products for those of us who still love black and white photography. They are wonderful.

Darkroom B&W photo paper is expensive and there's not much competition between brands anymore. Most is rather thicker than necessary for some reason. Photo classes in high school & college waste much paper via trial & error so the least expensive product that works well is desired. That's why Adorama product was chosen and it does the job well. Why pay more?

I liked this paper especially given its price point - it dries nicely and the tones translate pretty well. All in all, great for resin coated paper especially for when practicing/learning developing!

This paper works great. Compared to Ilford Multigrade IV RC, the speed seems higher requiring less exposure time. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a cost-effective paper.

I don't know yet what I think of this paper because it's hasn't arrived. So far, I guess, I'm not impressed. Why did you bother to sell me something you don't have?

Trusty paper with the best price
By Renato S.
At the beginning I was not much confident with the paper to serious work due to its low price, but I was wrong: the paper has all the characteristics that makes it just perfect for press work, and the gallery work where you have a very good separation on the highlights on the negative. Its very strong in the shadows, as good as any photo paper on the market price tagged as high as you want. I'll buy again, for sure.

Man, these are great. Just like Ilford's! but much less moneys! The gloss finish is as expected, renders beautifully, similar times to Illfords, it drys flat as predicted. I have no complaints. If you are worried about 3rd party grade Adorama paper not turning out the way you think it would, I assure you that you have nothing to worry about. This stuff is yummy great! And Much more affordable!
Adorama VGRC is a high speed, variable contrast, black and white enlarging paper with a medium weight, polyethylene coated base. The paper base is 190 g/m2 coated on both sides with 40 g/m2 of polyethylene giving a base weight of approximately 270 g/m2 and a thickness of approximately 245 microns. The silver halide emulsion has a silver content of approximately 1.5 g/m2.
Adorama VCRC gives a consistent image tone across all grades, exhibits excellent image sharpness and is available in Glossy & Pearl surfaces. The use of yellow and magenta colored filters permits selection of required contrast from a range of grades similar to that of graded papers. A neutral-cool image tone and clean white base combine to give a high quality paper equally suitable for tray or machine processing.
Adorama VGRC is designed for use with tungsten or tungsten halogen light sources, other light sources may give different contrast values. Exposure of the paper is straight forward, depending on which filter system is in use. For Ilford Multigrade filters, grades 00 to 3.5 have the same speed (ISO P250) and grades 4 and 5 require approximately twice the exposure. For the filter settings of table B, grades 0 to 4 have the same speed (ISO P320). Grades 00 and 5 require more exposure (ISO P250). When no filter is used, the paper has a contrast of approximately grade 2 and a speed of ISO P 640.
Open only in a photographic darkroom illuminated by standard OC or red safelights containing 15 watt bulbs or equivalent. The safelights should be at least 3 feet from the paper at all times and good working practice of keeping exposure to safelights at a minimum should be adopted. Unused paper should be returned to its original packaging for storage.
