When they work, they are great mics but they will cut out on their own which can ruin your video.

I added this unit to my acquisition of a memory card based Prosumer HD camcorder. In my experience, doing videos of events in a medium to large sized meeting room where the speaker is some distance away from the camera requires a direct audio feed to the camera for best quality audio. For shorter distances, an external directional mic is sufficient. This unit will allow up to 2 people to be miked simultaneously with both feeding into the camera via stereo plug from the single 2-channel receiver. If you don't like lavaliers, and can't afford a Countryman, there are other third party mics like AV-Jefes AVL670P which are similar at least in form if not in quality at a more favorable price point that are compatible with these body pack transmitters. Good bang for the buck in my opinion.
