The Grass Valley / Canopus FIRECODER Intra is a single PCI Express form factor board that provides for two to three times faster than real-time encoding to AVC Intra 50/100 from the Grass Valley EDIUS timeline. Encoding of AVC-Intra 50/100 files from the EDIUS timeline is greatly enhanced by FIRECODER Intra.

A unique algorithm called Asynchronous Hybrid Synergetic Encode combines the capabilities of the workstation CPU and the two hardware codecs on board for two to three times faster than real-time encoding right from the EDIUS timeline. To EDIUS users, FIRECODER Intra appears as an additional export option; providing seamless integration with EDIUS. FIRECODER Intra improves efficiency by speeding up the export of AVC Intra projects from EDIUS, saving time and money.
