This is great card for the cost to get a true yuv signal out to reference monitor while editing. It is the least expensive card offered by Grass Valley. The nice thing about the card is it does exactly what it is advertised to do.

Quick to install. Nice/easy way to output full screen image to a large LCD or Plasma TV via HDMI to see exactly how your video will look on consumer TV's. Only drawback is the card only supports a few project resolution/frame rate settings. Would be a 5 star if it supported more settings.

The Grass Valley / Canopus HDSPARK (Standalone) hardware solution is ideal if you're working in a file-based, networked environment and need to see your projects output in real-time, using affordable HDMI monitors.
Based on the PCI Express form factor, it is available with full or upgradable versions or EDIUS nonlinear editing software - as well as an HDMI output board supports full-resolution, real-time preview monitoring. It also features embedded HDMI audio and separate stereo RCA jacks for high-quality audio monitoring. The HDSPARK solution also empowers you with constantly synched, full-resolution preview of effects and content directly from the EDIUS timeline.
As for the HDSPARK board, it can handle any mix of high- and standard-definition (HD and SD) video content; unlimited video, audio, title and graphics layers; and any combination of real-time effects.
