Bought it last week and after a confusing initial setup I took it on a shoot. I ran tape backup but the FS-H200 produced perfect HD video on the CF Card. I had to download a converter to bring the .mov files into FCP. The TV commercials are on the air and look great. I look forward to using the FS-H200 on all our future shoots. So far I love it!

I got this to use with my Canon XH A1 in an attempt to upgrade my camera to a tapeless workflow. What I didn't expect was for this to make my camera even more capable. Just because I was curious, I ran some side by side tests--- recording off the flash unit as well as on MiniDV, then brought that into FCP and low and behold--- what was zebra stripped in red for excess lumination on MiniDV was showing up green for the flash unit. What that tells me is there's more information that is not being compressed by getting squeezed onto tape. The only hitch with this is if you want to shoot in 23.98 then you need to set it to record .m2t format and then use a program like MPEG Streamclip to rewrap it as a .mov for use in Final Cut Pro. It's not a big deal, but it is an extra step. This is a great little unit that has essentially future proofed my camera and allowed me to keep the post infrastructure I already have in place and not worry about trying to find a new camera to trust with my films.
