The drive itself is good. Ready to run right out of the box at raid 5. It runs a bit noisy but nothing like the loudness of the lacie 8big rack. The problem was Adorama sent the unit in its original packaging without another layer of protection. When the first unit arrived, the box was damaged. The lacie unit was cracked. Imagine the METAL case was torn! I immediately returned the unit only to be told they didn’t have a replacement unit ready. Consequently, I asked for a refund and bought the lacie from another company. I had ordered two internal hard drives from Adorama at the same time and both arrived without much protection in the box. One drive was DOA. I returned both drives the same day as well. Very disappointed with Adorama. I am a photographer and after this experience I am reluctant to purchase from them if this is how they send out their products. I shudder to think how the delicate lens are treated.
