Rich G : Does the hard drive come with a USB and a Firewire?Rodney B : Yes, USB 3.0, Firewire 800 and Firewire 400. If you only have one Firewire port on your computer (and have two of these drives) you can use a small Firewire cable jumper and link the two drives. So one drive will get the full Firewire 800 transfer speed, but the jumpered drive will only get 400 speeds.John B : I bought this as a gift, so Inever opened the box. IT DOES THE JOB.

I use this drive as a secondary/redundant time machine backup drive. It mirrors my other/current 500GB Iomega drive. Besides running hot, it does the job well. Runs very quiet, I hardly notice it at times. I would give it five stars, but for me the "running hot" issue is a concern to me.
