Steven A : Is this compatible with Chromebooks and their OS?Frank R : If the Chromebook has a Thunderbolt port (same physically in size as a USB Type-C connector), and if there are drivers written specifically for the Chromebook, it should work. The drive doesn't care about what it connects to, as long as it finds a compatible port and driver on the PC/iMac/Chromebook, et al. Refer to your Chromebook documentation and look for a Thunderbolt port. USB-C, although physically similar, is not a Thunderbolt port; so if your docs don't specifically say Thunderbolt, it won't work. If your docs indicate it does have a Thunderbolt port, just ensure that you have Thunderbolt drivers installed. If not, search Google for them. After installation, your LaCie drive should be all set.

Certainly fast enough for my work-which is saying something since I run a minimum of 128 tracks of multitrack audio through ProTools plus video on the regular. It may be bulkier than some but feels solid and steady in use.
