I purchased two of these 4TB drives in 2024. The female USB-C port on both drives failed within 6-months of purchase. For reference, they sat on my desk in a 3-D printed holder with minimal movement to plug/unplug the cables during use. These are not the same "rugged" hard drives LaCie used to make, and I would not recommend them.

Absolutely perfect hard drive. It's compact so it stores easily and is protected so it can take a tumble on accident. Will purchase again.

Impressive storage in a small package

Compact and light enough to carry on my travels with good capacity. When I am on location recording 4k footage and need to backup immediately, I bring this. Works well as a scratch disk editing in Premier Pro, as well.

What more could one ask for in a hard drive?

I was excited, but to my surprise, it did not come with the USB adaptor as it says in the description. It arrived today, 8/24/22. Yes, I checked the small pocket area where the cable is secured inside the box.
I heard great things about it, but now I can't use it because I only have the USB-C cable. I haven't yet upgraded to a computer that uses USB-C.

My Super Good Review of Lacie Rugged

I had been using a Toshiba 1TB for several years and decided it was time to replace it before it got a chance to stop working on me. I went with the Lacie Rugged 2TB after reading several reviews online. So far it's been a great storage device to help clear up some extra space on my PC. I am primarily used the drive to store the majority of my photos that I've taken over the past 6 years. I do a good amount of photography and raw files can really take up space quickly.

I have a couple of these drives.  Very solid. Perform well. Have had no issues.  Seem quite rugged. Bigger and bulkier than some, but that's fine with me.

Received this a part of a Lacie raid promotion and am very pleased with the performance.  Of course not as fast as an SSD but awesome to take a backup copy of Time Machine for my MacBook Pro offsite.  Remember it is not backed up unless it is in three places and one of those is offsite.

No muss or fuss - It just works

Certainly fast enough for my work-which is saying something since I run a minimum of 128 tracks of multitrack audio through ProTools plus video on the regular. 
It may be bulkier than some but feels solid and steady in use.

The USB cord connection has not been tight at all. Once you connect it to the pc and move even slightly, it disconnects. Literally drives me insane.
