Has a great cinematic look for the price and the build quality is stellar.

The lens itself seems great. But something that you need to consider is that it may not fit your rig. In fact if your running an x mount camera with a smallrig cage and a follow focus this lens will not stick out far enough to clear the cage and have enough room for the follow focus. I tried everything to make this work. The only way I could use this lens with a follow focus was to take my camera off the cage. Other than that construction and image quality seemed to exceed its price point. Unfortunately, the lens is of no use to me.

optically really nice. sharp but not overly so. flares are ok, handles backlight ok. focus ring is a bit stiff and they say unadjustable. my copy isn't too bad but some other lenses I have (18) are. focus motors still manage to turn them, at least on the good gear.

I think if you are looking to buy one of the lenses from this set, this is the one to get. Lovely focal length when converted over a cropped sensor, and looks pretty darn good wide open. Build quality is great, and the focus ring is smooth as butter. No complaints here!

If you’re just landing in the world of making filmmaking then look no further. These prime cine lenses from slr magic are a “bang for your buck!” With a no click aperture ring and smooth focusing makes a huge difference in shots. The lenses have ridges provided and are ready for follow focus set up. The one call out I will make, and this is pretty common with budget cine lenses, is lens breathing. I will admit the lens breathing is not as terrible as your typical body photo lens, but none the less you will see some breathing when shifting focus. If you’re on a budget but look for a great build and solid glass for a fair price I would highly suggest picking one of these up.

Couldn’t ask for a more crisp MFT mount cinema lens. The weight is nice and works well with my crane 3. Came quick too.

The SLR Magic MicroPrime CINE lenses are designed to be compact and robust for use in a professional setting. The MicroPrime CINE lenes have a large image circle that covers up to full frame. Witness markings on the lenses are all calibrated for accuracy professional use on the field.
Each lens is balanced in a similar weight distribution so that recalibration is not required during switching lenses when using a 3-axis gimbal. Lens gears are built-in with a throw slightly longer than photographic lenses but at the same time manageable when a motorized follow focus is not used. Each lens features internal focusing mechanism and comes with a standard 85mm diameter suitable for matte box use. In the situation where a smaller setup is required, each lenses also comes with a 82mm filter thread for use with 82mm Fixed ND filters.
