From the moment I opened the box until it was hooked up and formatting (which was super easy with the included software), was just a few minutes. As soon as it was done formatting, it was ready to go, and has worked beautifully. A+++!

Works great. Adorama was great. Left off a star because Lacie (Seagate) customer service is terrible. Had an issue with a previous Lacie hard drive and was impossible to get through to them.

I transferred 9 terabytes of lossless audio files from several portable drives. I highly value my lossless flac and wave music files collection and I decided this would be my first in a series of drives I'll be using to backup my digit files collections. I decided separate drives for each collection and I'll eventually back up everything again with whatever improved technology is available. I hope to share with family and friends once everything is complete.

Fast enough for most footage and all photography needs and also nowhere near as noisy as their raid solution. A premium, nice enclosure at a good price. Buying something like this gives you peace of mind that building a piecemeal hdd + enclosure setup doesn?t: those cheap enclosures are always garbage. Good product.

This is a great HD for a Time Machine backup or for a Photo Library. It works perfectly. I recommend re-formatting the drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

This drive is intermittent in its connection to my MacBook Pro. I’ve tried several remedies and it still disappears routinely from my active drives. I think it’s probably speedy and good otherwise, but it’s been frustrating so far.

Fast external drive. Am able to edit Lightroom images stored on drive with negligible lag. Very disappointed (hence 4 stars) that drive is not fan cooled, as advertised. Was one of the primary reasons I purchased this item.

Very easy to set up and run. So far it was a great purchase. My only complaint and this is only because I happen to sleep in the same room as my computer, is the brightness of the blue light on the side of the unit. It's very bright in a dark room. I have had to put a cloth over it to keep it from bothering me. Otherwise, great!!

Great drive from a long-standing excellent manufacturer. Real plug and play and great backward compatibility. Needed a larger backup as time machine outgrew my 6TB drive. Already use lacie for my main and backup photos...with over 70TB it’s time to think raid drive storage units.
