About Mackie ProFX16
The Mackie ProFX16 16-Channel Professional Effects Mixer with USB is a effective solution for mid-sized venues without the space or budget for lots of gear. There are 10 low-noise Mackie mic preamps that offer a +50dB gain range. There is also dedicated inline compression for the critical inputs on channels 5-8. A built-in 32-bit RMFX processor offers 16 different "Gig-Ready" reverbs, choruses and delays to add depth to your sound. The precision 7-band EQ allows you to tune your mains and monitors, while 3-band EQ with sweepable midrange is provided on the mono channels. There are 8 mono and 4 stereo line inputs, plus individual channel mute switches and overload indicators.
Each of the mic inputs has an 18dB/octave 100Hz low cut filter and there are inserts on the mono mic/line channels (1-4) for connecting outboard processors. The mixer has 60mm faders for the input channels, subgroups and mains for precise control. The mic inputs offer 48V phantom power and LED indicators for use with condenser microphones. There is an FX mute button, which is also controllable via the footswitch input. A break switch will mute all of the channels, ideal for music playback between sets.
A USB interface makes it easy to record shows or play music via a Mac or PC. You can also stream subgroups 1-2 or the main L/R channels to your computer for recording. There is a stereo USB/tape I/O with input level control to the mains, as well as a convenient USB return to the stereo channel for implementation of auxes, EQ and more. Tracktion 3 Music Production software is included for recording and editing your work. The software works on Mac and PC platforms.
The mixer offers balanced XLR and balanced/unbalanced 1/4" main outputs, as well as control room and headphone outputs with rotary level controls. The rugged steel chassis provides lasting durability for a lifetime of professional use. Optional rack ears (sold separately) allow you to mount the mixer in a standard equipment rack. The mixer also features a switching multi-voltage power supply for convenient international use.
