The Maxell BD-32 Digital Betacam Video Cassette is a 1/2" metal tape with an advanced cassette mechanism to create an extra-low error rate. It is ideal for all types of professional applications: ENG/EFP, editing, transmission and post-archival playback. Thanks to Multi-Orientation Technology and advanced dispersion systems, high-output Ceramic Armor Metal Particles reach their full energy potential, improving the tapes C/N ratio a full 2dB more than Betacam SP tape.
In addition, the Ceramic Armor coating ensures that output stays high because it protects against energy-dissipating heat, oxidation and corrosion. The high-strength binder makes a major contribution to increasing the tapes rigidity - a factor that serves to maximize tape durability in demanding playback modes such as shuttle and still frame mode, as well as to raise compatibility with archiving and post-archival playback.
The back-coating has been carefully designed to optimize smooth tape travel and reduced tape degradation. The SW (Smooth Winding) reel reduces tape degradation because it delivers unmatched packing of the tape, especially in the high-speed shuttle modes. The tape is supplied in a plastic album.
