First- this head is solid! Nikon D850 with 70-200 2.8 (2X converter), long exposures in low light incredibly sharp images no camera shake! This head is large and heavy, not a backpacking piece of equipment. Really like the 1/4 turn to tighten everything in position with no need to crank or over tighten to keep the head from ?creeping" with a heavy lens. Designed to work with long, heavy lenses it will handle everything in the camera bag with ease up to 600mm F4. It also work well for multi row panos, not perfect but you can find the center of your lens (nodal point) in both vertical and horizontal axis. One addition that would be nice to include is a ?0? mark / scale on the upper axis point so a consistent, repeatable angle could be quickly set. Benro produces solid professional gear at a fair price, highly recommend. The long arca plate that is included is a welcome bonus.

Replaced an aluminum MOVO with this Benro GH2. I have a Sigma 150-600 mm lens and at the full extension of 600 mm the MOVO would creep down and not stay in place. This Benro is very easy to balance and there is no creep or movement once balance is found. So, I guess that this is another one of those "you get what you pay for" stories. As a hobby photographer I just could not justify spending $500.00 plus for a gimbal and this one does not disappoint.

I looked at quite a few gimbals and had a tough time justifying the cost of some. I have always been happy with Benro products. This was easy to set up and had no problem balancing my Sigma 150-600 Sport with this. It's a tad on the heavier side but I guess that is was why it was also a few hundred bucks cheaper than some of the others, I bought it to use on a monopod and the setup seems to be working really well for me.

Half the price of the most famous, and it works great. Smooth, easy to use. On the heavy side, so not something to put in a backpack.

After much research, am so glad I bought the Benro GH2 Aluminum Gimbal Head with PL 100 Plate. I took it out last week and yesterday for a spin and after testing it, I know this is a great item to have for panning video or taking shots of wildlife, sports or fast moving items that you must follow for a still shot. I attached it to a Benro Mach 3 tripod and used my Nikon D810 with a wide 14mm lens for simple landscape panning video, and with a 24-70mm lens and a 200-400mm lens for following birds in flight. The Benro GH2 maneuvers smoothly while following the erratic flight of some birds without a hitch. I couldn't be happier, .. what a smart reliable tool to have on hand. The quality construction is what I appreciate most. It is a heavier item but that is perfectly ok with me. Nothing concerns me more than using a product that claims it can handle the weight and I am second guessing it. Not with this product. I didn't worry that my Nikon D810 and 400mm lens might fall off or topple the device. I used it on a very windy day and it was stable. Love it! I am willing to pay more for a tool that protects my equipment and enables me more freedom to capture wonderful shots. I purchased this item from Adorama, my favorite camera store, and am very excited about the possibilities. The only thing I might suggest when using it with a wide mm lens is to use a leveler base or ballhead for precision... I like to use the vertical horizon tool on my Nikon DSLRs when taking still shots and panning simple video. No a problem... That is a simple fix for so much potential. I highly recommend this product. Thanks Adorama and Benro!

Awesome gimbal! I've shot birds in flight and top fuel funny cars with it. I've gotten shots with a 200-500mm lens that I would not have if not for this unit.

Excellent gimbal head. Smooth controls great build. Like another review there is no bubble level installed. That is an easy fix though. Just get one from the local big box hardware store and affix it into the center of the head. Problem solved.

I purchased this Benro Gimbal (and Benro tripod) to replace a setup that just wouldn't hold a heavy long lens as steady as I needed. This Gimbal recently held a 600 mm lens nearly straight up in the air without a flaw as I photographed some baby owlets. Not too heavy either for going into the field. The platform clamps well and can be lowered or raised to fit the angle needed for shooting. Recommend highly!

I've wanted a gimbal rig for many years and finally made the plunge this year for the upcoming air show. But I have already used it for some macro work as well as my hummingbird shots. I think it will improve your photograph experiences too except perhaps when mobility is your highest priority. It works best with longer lenses (300-600mm) but I also use it with my 180mm macro and 70-200mm lenses using a couple of rails from Really Right Stuff to offset it a little to make camera controls easier to reach. I also use a remote cable to trigger when using the rig.

I originally purchased a similar in looks but a lot less expensive gimbal head from another seller. It did not work well and was a waste of money, This gimbal head has been great so far and is built well. You get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend this product. Working with Adorama was and always has been a very good experience. No worries buying!

Very solid, well built with fluid movement. Handles my 200-500 or my 300 with teleconverters and a heavy body with no problem, and very easy to balance for a “weightless” gimbal experience. I will likely buy a Benro ballhead next for my landscape tripod. I would buy this again with no hesitation

Great gimbal head for the money. I did a lot of research on this one before making the selection, and am very pleased with the result. I wanted a quality gimbal head that was not overly heavy, and this one fits the bill perfectly and is very stable on my Manfrotto 190X tripod.

I would have rated this at five stars IF it had a leveling bubble on the base. Everything else is top notch. One thing buyers may notice is that movements may be a little stiff at first, but with use everything moves smoothly. Locking is solid at all points, and balance is easily attained. Great product, especially for the price.

Just used it a time or two. It's a big plus over ballheads I've have. I need more time with it to determine how far I can go with my gushing about it. Overall initial impression is it's well made, and my pics are sharper by quite a bit. Only a lack of time spent using it is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars. I consider myself a good Hobbyist / budding semi-pro at this.
