My go to filter year over year. Dropped one in the cold. This is a replacement.

Using a range of Lee graduated ND filters, ND filters, all of these are used with the Lee Foundation Holder for years. The quality of the filters are second to none. Recent cold shoot in northern Vermont, dropped the filter and needed a replacement. Adorama ships extremely fast and I was back to shooting before the end of the week.

The 100x150mm Reverse-Graduated ND 0.6 Filter (2 Stops) by Lee Filters is an indispensable tool for landscape photographers seeking to master exposure control during sunrise and sunset. When the sun is just above the horizon, its intensity can cause overexposure, while attempts to adjust can lead to underexposure in other frame areas. This high-quality, durable filter has been specifically engineered to provide photographers with complete control over images captured at daybreak and dusk.

Ideal for capturing stunning sunrises and sunsets, this filter features a unique design where the density is strongest at the horizon line, gradually transitioning upwards. This design is most effective when used with lenses of 24mm or wider on a full-frame DSLR or equivalent. As the name suggests, the Reverse ND filter has a stronger density in the center, with a carefully crafted transition zone that delivers a natural, balanced exposure to the sky.

The Reverse ND filter allows precise exposure control right at the horizon line, where a sunrise or sunset is at its brightest. This makes it particularly suitable for seascape photography. Like all of Lee Filters' resin graduated filters, the Reverse ND is handcrafted by skilled technicians at the company's Andover factory. This meticulous process ensures unparalleled precision and quality control in the industry.

Unlike many similar filters that feature a harsh 'stripe' at the horizon line that fades abruptly, the Lee Reverse ND filter boasts a smoother, more gradual transition between the dyed and clear areas of the filter. This results in a pleasing and balanced image that enhances the visual appeal of your photography.

To maximize the effectiveness of the Reverse ND filter, it should be used on lenses of 24mm or wider on a full-frame DSLR or equivalent. For optimal results during sunrises and sunsets, position the filter in the holder so that the densest area aligns with the horizon line where the sun is brightest. The gradual ND transition zone will control the exposure, preventing the sun and sky from burning out, while the clear area will maintain a reasonable exposure for foreground and middle ground interest.
