Works great! It fits the camera perfectly and isn’t too bulky. Easy to balance on a gimbal as well.
Strong and versatile.
This is my second cage from Smallrig. I use this for a small and easy setup. Saying that, even if is a small, have a great capability to rig everything you need on it. I recommend this product 100%. Fit my BMPCC 4K perfectly and is light weight but strong.
SmallRig SONY FX9 Half Cage 2912 is designed to provide protection and accessory mounts. It is composed of a U-Shape plate, Rear insert plate, and Side bracket. It is compatible with Sony original trigger handle, FX9 rod clamp 2845 which provides follow focus resolution. Compatible with quick release plate and VCT-14 shoulder pad such as 1954, support the rear of the camera body to keep great balance. Multiple 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 mounting screws, Arri locating hole and cold shoe mount can compatible with microphone holder 2352, top handle1638, and articulating arm such as 2070.
Note:
• 1st, move the FX9 original shoulder pad before installing the rear insert plate
• 2nd, Install U-shaped plate 2840 and rear insert plate 2841 before the side bracket
- U-Shape Plate -
SmallRig Sony FX9 U-Shape Plate 2840 was designed to provide additional protection and accessory mounts. The U-Shape plate is fixed by four 1/4 screws. It fits. Compatible with Sony Top handle and SmallRig screw handle 1638 to providing handheld shooting installation solution.
When setting the screw handle on both sides, it can provide a low-profile shooting installation solution. Compatible with Articulating Arm such as 2071 to provide a monitor installation solution, compatible with FX9 special rod clamp 2845 to provide a follow-focus installation solution.
Note: When use U-shape plate only, 1st, screw off the Sony top handle, 2nd, screw up 1/4 -20 screws on the U-shape plate.

- Rear Insert Plate -
SmallRig SONY FX9 Rear Insert Plate 2841 is designed to support the rear of the camera body to keep great balance. Fix to the SONY FX9 with 3 M3 screws. It includes 1/4, 3/8 mounting screws, compatible with quick release plate and VCT-14 shoulder pad such as 1954.
Note: Before use, move the original FX9 shoulder pad
