I'm very familiar with manual focus lenses. I have the Laowa 15mm f/2 for Sony and really like the lens. I wanted the equivalent for my Olympus OM-1. I don't know what the problem was, but I couldn't get a decently sharp image with the Laowa 7.5mm f/2 for m4/3, so I returned the lens.

Well built and crisp images. Works great for real-estate. The only drawback is poor low-light performance.

I bought this to improve my real estate walk through videos using an Osmo Pro. It's lightweight but solidly built. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the lens hood which is clearly visible in most video resolutions.

This lens delivers results that are more than satisfactory for the price. I know it doesn't LOOK like much for the money, but this lens is very sharp when focused correctly. Anything more than a few feet away and focusing to infinity usually does the trick. Focusing on objects less than a couple feet away can be a bit more challenging, especially if they are not stationary. However, get it right and the results are very rewarding, even wide open at f/2.0.I purchased this lens mostly for use with the X5R camera on the Inspire 1 Raw and Osmo, but it's great on the Olympus OMD EM1 MKII as well. It's nice having such a small lens to carry around when shooting landscapes or architecture. It barely adds any weight to the camera! The feel of the lens is nice, and the focus ring has nice feedback. As an added benefit...if you are using this lens on the DJI Inspire cameras (X5, X5R, X5S) the filter size is the same as the stock DJI lenses (46mm). Chromatic aberration is surprisingly low on this lens, even in high contrast scenarios. This is my first lens from Laowa, and given the quality of this lens (both the physical build and images it produces), I would feel comfortable buying another lens from this manufacturer.

I may update the rating later after I've used this lens more and got the RAW hassle figured. Lens doesn't connect upright on inspire 1 pro X5 camera. Therefore the lens hood is off by 90 degrees. Either fly without or figure out how to mount correctly. (I have a fix but it's just a cobble)Then the RAW problem. The camera doesn't recognize the lens so shooting in RAW you will show to have unreadable and corrupted files. The lens flares like crazy. An ugly flare and also purple edges. The good:Get the light angle correct and good angle and it is mind blowing how wonderful a shot you can get. More work on my part and some magic light, and hopefully I can get a better attitude for this lens. If so, I'll give it another star or maybe two. I've seen it's possibility. The good.

A manual lens takes some getting used to but its screechingly wide view comes in handy.

I love this lens. I've been wanting a MFT that is wide & fast like this for a long time. Didn't know this came out. Distortion/Skewing is almost absent and it is so fast, I still get nice DOF if I'd like to. AWESOME BUY!

This lens is everything I hoped for when I purchased it. Took me awhile to get used to the manual settings but after I got it figured out the lens was amazing in its clarity and depth of field. I highly recommend this lens for wide angle shots and videos. And Adorama made ordering easy and quick. Thanks Adorama!!

My wife and I love to travel and I've always wanted a really wide lens for use in tight spaces, to capture huge landmarks, impressive landscapes, which was sometimes a limitation with our other lenses (14-140mm, 25mm). I had been keeping my eye out for an ultra wide lens for some time now, however other ultra wide micro 4/3 lenses are either super expensive, have fish-eye distortion, or are really bulky. This lens is super light-weight and compact, but feels very good quality. I believe it is also very sharp and will allow me to take the shots that I wanted with little distortion! It is a fully manual lens which I'm still getting used to, but I actually feel more in control of my photos now! I really enjoyed using it on our latest trip and look forward to using it in the future. The free accessory pack was also a great bonus for buying on Adorama.

I bought this for an upcoming trip, where I thought it would be great for panorama, landscapes, but turns out that I am enjoying it much more for interior shots. Homes, churches, coffee shops, etc. Light, accurate, well made.

Before you embark on your next photographic adventure, consider the Laowa 7.5mm f/2 Lens for Micro Four Thirds-a marvel of innovation and optical engineering. As the widest rectilinear lens available for Micro Four Thirds cameras, this Laowa lens offers an expansive 110-degree ultra-wide angle of view, equivalent to a 15mm lens on a 35mm sensor. This feature is particularly beneficial for Micro Four Thirds users, who often contend with a 2x crop factor, as it allows them to capture vast landscapes, architectural marvels, and star-studded night skies with remarkable clarity and breadth.
Crafted for excellence, the Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT lens boasts a fast f/2 aperture, making it an indispensable tool for astro-photography enthusiasts and those shooting in low-light conditions. The wide aperture not only facilitates the capture of celestial wonders but also contributes to stunning landscape imagery, where depth of field and exposure flexibility are key.
Despite its ultra-wide and fast capabilities, this lens maintains a super compact and lightweight profile, measuring just 55mm in length and weighing under 200g. This portability ensures that it's an effortless addition to any photographer's kit, ready for spontaneous shoots and prolonged handheld sessions without fatigue.
The lens's superior optical performance is further enhanced by the inclusion of an aspherical lens element, which diligently works to minimize distortion and maintain image integrity across the frame. Photographers can expect high-quality, sharp images that truly reflect their creative vision.
For those who frequently use filters to refine their shots, the Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT comes equipped with a 46mm filter thread, allowing for the easy attachment of screw-in filters without adding significant bulk. This feature is a boon for landscape photographers who rely on polarizers or ND filters to achieve their desired effects.
Aerial photographers and videographers will be delighted with the lightweight version of this lens, which has been meticulously designed to weigh just 150g. This reduction in weight, achieved without compromising the durable metallic build, makes it an ideal companion for gimbals and drones, ensuring wider, more stable footage from the skies.
Available in both standard and lightweight versions, the Laowa 7.5mm f/2 MFT lens is versatile and user-friendly, catering to a variety of shooting styles and preferences. Whether capturing the grandeur of sweeping vistas, the intricate details of architectural design, or the serene beauty of the night sky, this lens is poised to become an essential part of your Micro Four Thirds arsenal.
