This is a great lens. Was recommended by a friend for real estate photography and couldn?t imagine a better lens for the job. It?s small and lightweight, doesn?t distort, super easy to use and really wasn?t that expensive.

Amazing wide angle manual lens for Sony A7IV. I purchased this lens to film 4K 60fps on the new Sony a7IV. Since the camera has a 1.5 crop in 4K 60fps, this lens is just wide enough to capture those wide angle shots. Lens is very sharp, small and perfect for any gimbal. Highly recommend it.

Beats my expectations. Small, great build quality, easy to focus, sharp, low distortion and low chromatic aberration. FOV on APS-C is over 90 degrees, which is great when you need ultra wide angle. Also, it focuses very close, and it is sharp at closest focus, even wide open at f/2.8, with gorgeous smooth bokeh in the background. It is better at close focus than my small Fujicron 16/2.8 and 23/2.0 lenses.

Optically the lens is very good. Very little distortion in the corners and edges. The price tag of nearly $500 is a little steep for what you get.

The lenses barely out of the box and was purchased for my Fuji XT2. The packaging is outstanding. I’ve made a few photographs which are flat and have no curved edges. There’s a touch of a vignette, but not objectionable. The color is excellent and the contrast is perfect. The lens is extraordinarily sharp and the images look good at high magnification. With the mirrorless camera, the no automation is not a problem. Frankly, you would never know that there is not an auto diaphragm. The depth of field is so great, focusing is barely necessary. I bought the 9 mm to take to Iceland at the end of January. I’m anxious to see how it does with the vistas. I currently have a 14 mm Fuji lens (21 mm equivalent) that seems not quite wide enough. For less than $, buy this lens.

I was looking for something really wide for my Fujifilm X Series camera. This lens checks a lot of boxes for me: Compact and Lightweight, check. Relatively inexpensive, check. Well built, check. Great image quality, check. Although this lens does exhibit quite a bit of vignetting wide open, it's not an issue for me. I generally like to shoot landscape and architecture (that's what this lens is for, right?) at around f/8 - f/11. So far, so good. I've had this lens just a short time but I am VERY pleased with the image quality I'm getting. It's sharp, even in the corners at f/5.8-f/11. And the angle of view is just spectacular. It's so dynamic and WIDE. So far, this little lens has exceeded my expectations. It's so tiny (smaller than the Fuji 23mm f/2) that it can go with me just about anywhere. It will definitely be in my bag when I travel. Highly recommend.

Super lightweight lens I use mostly for video and some stills. Turn on focus peaking and away you go. I was thinking of buying the fuji 8-16mm f2.8 when it came out but the $2000 price tag was a little much. This fit my need and actually will function better since I use it for video on my gimbal.

Bring your Nikon Z camera system to life with the Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D Prime Lens, an exceptional choice for photographers and videographers seeking a high-quality, durable, and innovative ultra-wide-angle lens. With an expansive 113-degree angle of view, this lens is perfect for capturing breathtaking landscapes, intricate architectural details, and spacious interior shots with your Nikon Z series cameras, including the Nikon Z 9, Z F, Z5, Z6, Z6 II, Z7, Z7 II, and Z8.
Crafted for versatility and reliability, the Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens boasts a bright maximum aperture of f/2.8, enabling you to shoot in challenging low-light conditions while achieving a beautifully shallow depth of field. The manual focus design provides precise control over focusing, which is essential for creating sharp, detailed images with artistic intent.
The optical construction of the lens includes two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements that work together to effectively correct chromatic aberration and achieve near-zero distortion. This meticulous design ensures exceptional corner-to-corner sharpness, making it an indispensable tool for professionals who demand the highest image quality without compromise.
Despite its wide-angle capabilities, the Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D Prime Lens maintains a compact and lightweight profile, making it an ideal companion for mirrorless Nikon Z cameras. Its portability is especially beneficial for filmmakers and photographers who use gimbals, as it balances well without adding excessive weight.
Included with the lens is a petal-shaped lens hood that helps to minimize lens flare and ghosting, preserving image contrast and color fidelity even when shooting in bright lighting conditions. The sleek design of the lens, coupled with its robust construction, ensures that it can withstand the rigors of daily use while providing consistent performance.
For aerial videographers, the introduction of the new DJI DL mount version of this lens allows it to be attached to the DJI Inspire 2 with an X7 gimbal, offering the widest lens option available for this drone platform. This feature, along with the Zero-Distortion optics, saves significant time in post-processing by delivering impeccably straight lines right out of the camera.
Please note that while the Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D Prime Lens offers ultra-wide coverage and exceptional optical performance, it is designed specifically for APS-C (Super 35) sized sensors and is not intended for full-frame use.
Elevate your creative potential with the Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D Prime Lens for Nikon Z, a lens that redefines the boundaries of ultra-wide-angle photography and videography.
