Amazing lens, a lot of distortion correction in post. Recommend getting a 10mm.

Amazingly compact and light. (This is very high on my list as I am transitioning to Sony for travel. Tamron Trinity + Sony 85 f/1.8 is my kit) Very sharp. Very little distortion (relative to incredibly wide 9mm) Also, it did not seem to be hypersensitive to not being held perfectly level, something that I was afraid might be a real problem. No AF is not really a problem at 9mm. Set for hyperfocal and fire away. If you are moving to macro distances, it will be obvious on the screen/finder that you need to refocus. Focus Peaking works fine on the Sony, but with such a deep DOF, I had to turn it off because most of the image was yellow. Cons: 5.6 is pretty slow for interior/night work. The IBS on the A7iii does a great job and I got perfectly sharp photos at 1/4sec which, in the absence of people, makes low light shooting at f/5.6 and ISO200 doable even without a tripod. Vignetting is very strong. The lens correction profile adds over 2 stops to the corners. (More on the profile below) That's not much of an issue unless you are shooting at ISO800+ to begin with, which ends up adding a LOT of noise to the corners. (A7iii) The usual no filter thread problem. There is a solution, but it's not exactly travel friendly when you are focused on small and light. Although it's not nearly as bad as the Fotodiox solution with my Nikon 14-24, However, I haven't actually been able to find the adapter for sale anywhere yet. Overall, this is a great little lens at a good price. Lightroom Lens Correction Profile: I found the Lightroom profile provided by Venus Optics actually over corrects both the vignette and distortion, for my taste anyway. You can tweak the values in the .lcp file for Lightroom to your liking. I went with 75% of their vignette correction. Or you can just adjust the vignette and distortion sliders in the lens correction box.

The Widest Rectilinear lens for Full Frame cameras.
Designed for full frame cameras, the Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL is currently the world's widest rectilinear lens. The remarkable 135 Degree angle of view allows you to capture landscape images with ease and realise formerly impossible shots. The lens includes 2 aspherical elements and 2 extra-low dispersion elements to suppress chromatic aberrations and distortion to the minimum. Despite the one-of-a-kind perspective, the lens itself is super compact (2.4" / 6cm long) and weigh only 12.3 oz. / 350 g. It also features an extremely close focusing distance of 4.72" / 12cm (from subject to sensor) for photographers to create mini macro shots with ultra-wide perspective.
Extraordinary 135 Degree Angle of view
Featuring a remarkable 135 Degree angle of view, the new Laowa 9mm f/5.6 is currently the widest non-fisheye lens ever developed for full frame mirrorless cameras. The ultra-wide angle of view is particularly helpful for interior as it helps exaggerated the sense of space. The one-of-a-kind perspective also helps realized a lot of formerly impossible shots.
Extremely close focusing distance
In addition to the ultra-wide perspective, the new Laowa 9mm lens can focus extremely close, almost like a macro lens. The closest focusing distance is only 4.72" (12cm) measuring from subject to sensor. This is so much closer than the other ultra-wide angle lenses in the market and it provides a greater flexibility for photographers to compose shots at any distance, create wide angle shots at close distances and control depth of field much more easily.
Perfect 10-point Sunstars
The 5-blade aperture system produces a pleasing sunstar rendering. Simply stop down the aperture by 1 stop and can create the perfect 10-point sunstars.
An exaggerated sense of space
With a remarkable 135 Degree angle of view, the lens creates a sense of space by exaggerating the relative size of foreground objects. This lens is extremely useful for interior photography.
100mm Filter Holder
Despite the ultra-wide angle of view, Venus Optics have managed to work with partners to carefully design a filter holder that 100mm-wide filters can be used without serious vignetting.
Lens body design
The new 9mm f/5.6 is carefully crafted to improve your user experience.
