It stopped working
It only worked for a couple of weeks. Started varying intensity then just died. I sent it back.

Too fragile to buy
I only give it 2stars because it was a good light for macro photography but way too fragile! It broke before I could really use it and I tried to fix it which made it worse.

It's a really cool concept.
So I accidentally broke one of the arms within 5 minutes of unboxing. It really is a cool concept but it is delicate to the point I have trouble imagining it ever being practical.

Poorly designed
My points are the same as everyone else's with the exception that mine has broken and is now taped together with gorilla tape. I just think the way the arms articulate needs to be reworked.

Nice light but the manufacturer seems to have taken shortcuts
This is a good light for macro and extreme macro work. I’ve given it 3 stars due to a couple of observations. 1) The light is made of a lot of plastic with some parts questionable as to if they will withstand time. 2) the light does not recharge as fast as I would like. I believe this is the issue I have with it not firing every time I hit the release. 3) No diffusers provided. 4) the center light dims in and out. I’m not sure if this is by design or not but it is an annoyance when trying to focus in on something. I also believe that if using the center light while photographing that the intermittent dimming affects the image especially when stacking. All in all with the limited amount of lights out there this light is likely the next best choice to the more expensive lights out there. A few quality and technical tweaks and this thing will give all others a run for their money.

I love this flash
Very simple to use and it just works. The ability to adjust power levels for each flash head allows for the kind of flexibility that I did not appreciate until I owned the flash. You are going to get some weird looks out in the field, so if you like attention and crave the simplicity of a manually controlled flash for macro work, this may be the unit for you.

Venus Laowa Macro Twin Light
The flash is just what I was looking for. I have the Canon Macro Light but you can't aim the light. It just fires forward. The Venus flash has 2 adjustable arms so you can aim it at the subject even if the lens is very close. This is helpful for some of my macro lenses that have a subject to lens distance of about 1cm. However, the right hand flash did not work. I sent it back for a replacement and the replacement had the same problem. I will not try again until I am confident there is a change in manufacturing quality control. If it worked I would give it a 5 star rating. It was very easy to use.
