Shopper : Can it be used for color slides?DAVID R : YES, IT CAN BE USEDDENNIS K : Depends on what software you have. Able to take great detail pics and transfer to Word, PowerPoint, etc. and able to print from Veho software alsoTHOMAS M : It would magnify the picture slide to much to be visable as a picture assuming your trying to put your slides on the computer and save them as pics I hope this helpsRONALD R : Yes, it will take still photos.
Shopper : I am looking for a portable device like this that can show how porous a surface is. Stainless steel, laminate surfaces and flooring are my targets. I am wondering if this device will accomplish this. Can you save the digital images? ThanksTAMARA R : Hi, I have this microscope and it will not acheive what you are looking for. Its not strong enough. Its great for seeing things like pours in fruits and the like, but for the stainless steel, and even wood, it just isn't strong enough.WARREN L : What I use if for is inspecting surface mount IC solder joints on printed circuits, so I would think you would be satisfied with it. And yes you can save the images.TIMOTHY K : It is a great product and will do what you need. Very cheap, very portable. Will take pictures. I use it with my kids to look at things. You can take it in the field with a lap top.SRINARASIMHA K : You sure can save images and review them. However 400x does not always work depending on the size of the object. 400x works on smaller objects as you need to almost insert it into the plastic hood and focusing becomes tricky. I see more personal use than professional use for this tool. I also have an optical microscope which magnifies much more than this.

Purchased the scope for the PC (running windows 7) and it worked flawlessly, but I recently went Mac and after some learning on my part it works well on that too. Great product and I would buy it all over again.STEPHEN H : Hi Peter, Yes it will work on windows 7 . I have it installed on my laptop witch is Windows 7 and it works great! It is small enough to carry with you just about anywhere. It's built in led lights are more than bright enough for it to work in low light conditions as well. I really enjoy using mine. You'd do much better to get a camera with a macro lens and a high quality sensor.
