So far so good one month in. Reliable start up and shutdown. Image quality 1080p 60fps decent. Night time OK. Can read plates.

The camera works great, but the quality of the video isn’t that great. The mp4 compression delivers low resolution.

I posted a lengthy review on this somewhere else. You should read the reviews on other sites because the comments aren't as glowing. Anyway, the loop recording with this camera is unpredictable. I went back and forth with the manufacturer and all I got were lame excuses. I should have returned the camera but after testing this for a long time, I felt it was reliable enough to install anyway despite the problems I found. Wrong. A few weeks ago, I witnessed somebody who was assaulted in front of my truck but when I went to look at the video I found that the camera had stopped recording anything for about a month. Stupid firmware is the problem but they won't admit to it.

Works great day time, for night time it's rather difficult for me since I live in areas that don't have much street lights but in commercial areas it works well enough.

I have never used a dashcam before this purchase and I have to say that this is a must have! From my research, the A119/A119S is pretty much the consensus best value dashcam. It's not too expensive, the video quality is pretty great, and it's very discrete! It's an easy set-up and very user friendly. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable and discrete dashcam.

This is very similar to the Viofo A119 but it is a little better in low light because of the brighter lense and Sony sensor. It doesn't record in 2K 30 fps like the A119 but it is a more refined higher quality camera with only 1080P 60 fps. The color accuracy is better than the A119 too. But if you want to save $ and get higher resolution video with worse color and less low light capabilities I wouldn't find fault with your decision to get the A119 instead of the A119S. I would recommend them both because they each beat each other in pros and cons. They are both very good cameras with good value for the money. Remember that the whole point of this camera is that it stays hidden from view which is useful in court or in defending yourself when you have the other person try to lie about backing up into your car as he actually reported it as your fault and asked your insurance company to pay for it. The camera will show he is a liar especially when he doesn't notice that you have a camera. This camera stays hidden well. You also get less reflection of the windshield and dash because it is designed to be closely mounted on the windshield with the lense close to the windshield. It can also be purchased with optional GPS and CPL filter accessories. The GPS is completely useless and I don't recommend getting it. The CPL filter can help with some of the window and dash reflection but it would make the video slightly darker. So the CPL filter is not recommended for low light recording. I also think that for low light recording the 30 fps mode is better than 60 fps because it just duplicates each frame because the shutter is open longer in low light conditions. So the effective frames are reduced by half in 60 fps mode in low light conditions. If you record in 30 fps you're going to save space for more recordings too.

The Dash Cam is really good with sensors. Just need a lens for better image and you are good to go.

This is a _really_ good dash cam. You get two mounting 3M sticker things for the dash, extra 3M pad, usb adapter (2 ports), and some wire clips. It's a good thing there was an extra 3M pad. I put one of the mounting pads up side down. Oddly enough, a pad removal device was also included... it's just a string. I put it up high and it works great! Also chews through memory, so get a large card. The emergency save works okay, but if you're near a switch point, you might not get what you want a few seconds before. So just make sure you get those files quick! Image is great, and they aren't kidding about 1080p 60fps. I highly recommend this product. I wish the included cable to permanently mount it was a little longer. I just barely had enough to run it with a few extra inches of slack. But to be fair, I'm running to an outlet.

My requirements are simple. I need a dashcam that I can rely on to record consistently what is in front of me even if I'm in an accident, short of the camera actually getting destroyed. Also, once mounted I don't want to fiddle with the thing. This is the 4th cam I've bought and I'm still looking. I bought this because of the sony sensor and the capacitor and although I'm happy with the images I'm not sure about reliability. I set this up with an sd card I'd used in other other devices. and a battery pack. Loop recording did not work. It would record a few times and then stop recording with no obvious signs that it wasn't recording. I tried another card and that seemed to work but it overwrites 'read only' files which it shouldn't do. That may or may not be a big deal depending on your g-sensor settings and the sensitivity of the cam and the size of your card. 'g-sensor's don't work the same in every card. Their support replied to my queries but didn't help at all. First they said format with this pc utility, then test the card with this pc utility and then we don't recommend that brand card. Basically, just a bunch of BS. Pretty annoying considering the cam costs about twice anyone else. Also, on the cams I've had, the battery allows you enough time to set the menu settings without actually being connected to the car. Many people will tell you that they are not supposed to be used that way but I find this camera really difficult to operate unless I take it off the car and plug it into a battery pack. The standby power with the capacitor is at most maybe 3 or 4 secs. They wouldn't answer my questions about this but this is probably normal but it doesn't give me a warm feeling. Sure, it's probably more than enough time to close the last recording file but.... I was in an accident once and when I was hit the power went off immediately and the dash cam I was using only record up to about 30-60secs before the accident. Sure this was a different cam but because their answers about the sd card were so flakey I suspect that they haven't really tested these devices that well.

Very nice design: discrete, small, easy to mount/dismount. The video quality is good but looks a little bit grainy to me. Can't read the license plates on the left or the right in motion - too grainy. Pretty good if it's right in front of you or moves very slow.

Camera is great overall. Nice Setup. I like that they include adhesive clips for the wire. Video is pretty clear and camera is hard to notice.

Very happy with this camera. The low light quality is good enough to read license plates at night in most cases. It was easy to hardwire to my truck's fuse box. No complaints!
