While I am not a pro photographer (or even semi-pro) by any means, I know good equipment when I see it - and the Vanguard 363CT is a solid piece of gear! I mated it with a TBH-300 Ball Head, and could not be happier. Carbon Fiber, extra cupped rubber feet, light weight for it's ability, this tripod did not disappoint! I got in on a Black Friday deal price, which was icing on the cake.

The tripod is taller than my aluminum Manfroto tripod and weighs less and supports more weight. I would highly recommend this as a great entry in to carbon fiber legs.

This is a fairly large tripod. While the legs are carbon fiber, it does weigh a fair amount. For studio work and for pictures you don't have to travel far from your vehicle to get to, it is a great stand. I appreciate the weight as I use it as a dual purpose camera and video tripod depending on the head attached to it. It feels sturdy even when extended to me. The legs are thick (even the smallest ones). I wouldn't pay full retail ($) for it personally, but at the sale prices I consider it to be a very good value. Not really shown in the pictures, but the hook on the center column is detachable and a 3/8 thread is on there so you can mount a head upside down for different angles. The center column does not pivot, but it does feel sturdy once locked and the adjustment up and down is smooth enough. Leg locks make setup to full height (or in-between) very quick. The bag is a sack type (i.e. one opening on the end) with a shoulder strap permanently attached, not my favorite bag, but it works. The tripod head mounting area is reversible 3/8 or 1/4. I've only tested the 3/8 though.

This item was recommended by a professional photographer to my daughter. She told me about it so I purchased it for her as a gift. She will not open it till Christmas but saw the one the man was using and compared it to the others being used by other photographers at the same event she attended. Looking at all the tripods being used that day she felt this one was the cream of the crop!

I have several tripods and this one was so far the best at set up and take down. yes its tall and a bit of a pain for really low angle shots but that still can be done. With 95% plus of all shots off the ground level, this set up nicely. Very stable and the lever latches seem to work faster than the twist type.

For those who need a heavy duty, well made tripod with 6 foot 2 inch extension, this is the one you want. Great for photography and spotting scope use.

Professional grade- sturdy enough for the heaviest lens, well built, easy to set up, collapse. It is too big and heavy to be easily carried on long hikes but who carse

I got a defect one, i think we should have rule when receive a defect product, it cost my time to email, to print the label, to drop off at the UPS store, and my time are not freaking free.... tripod is solid, heavy, a series 4 CF tripod at this price point is really good. if you have long lens like 400mm f2.8, or 500mm, 600mm it can handle well
