Worth the Buy

I bought this for a monopod. It works really well. The action is smooth, and the dials have great feel to them. The quick connects are solid as well. What I like is that it came with two quick connects, so I can always keep one on the grip, and one on the tele. Makes switching things out easier.

Best Purchase for my Tri-Pod

I purchased a tripod from a company, which had the traditional head, it broke at the point where the pan adjustment was. Any way. I did like the tripod so I saw the ad at Adorama, purchased this head and have liked it ever since. Glad I bought it.

What a great value

Great head for the price. I was considering the BBH 200 model but for less than half the price this head will to the same job and probably last longer.

Super holding!

I have other Vangaurd ballheads on my Monopod and steel tripod. They work good for the use the get but weren't quite sturdy enough for long exposures or downward angles with my Canon 7d and L lenses. This is a perfect upgrade! I have this on my Carbon Fiber tripod for hiking. It uses the same quick release plate as the smaller models so i can leave everything on camera for both heads. But this head is so much stronger and has no drift when locked! This is a great ballhead for the money!

Great Ballhead

The only thing I'm not crazy about was the mounting plate. It's OK, I just thing there are better ones out there.

Looks and Functions Great

I like the smooth action and ease of control. I can pan because of the smooth action. Does not sag when locked down. Controls are well placed, precise, and easy to use. You can set the free play tension for any weight camera. Clear easy to read degree markings for panoramic. Comes with two quick mount plates, one for camera and one for lens collar. Build quality instills confidence that equipment will be safe. Topping things off the SBH-250 is pleasing to the eye.

A Good, Sturdy piece of Gear

I currently usually use this to support a Nikon 70-200mm lens mounted to D90 body and mounted atop a Velbon Geopod 7 monopod. This head supports the body and lens combination effortlessly. Its action while panning is very smooth, and when the ball is locked down, it STAYS locked down. So far, I have detected zero creep. Each knob, large or small, operates smoothly, too, and each knob is easy to grip and turn. The knobs appear to be large enough to be able to operate them while wearing gloves. I have not owned and used the head enough to be able to comment on its durability. The instructions left a lot to be desired, but anyone should be able to determine what each knob does by playing with the head for a while. Bottom line is, I think this is a good piece of gear and I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Heavy lens holder deluxe

I use this fo my E-520 & 50-500 lens on wildlife photography. I've tried several and this was by far the best for the money. It's uncomplicated, strong and holds the lens exactly where I point it.
