It's OK, but once you set up everything for your shot, it will not hold still for your shot. I had to compensate the level of the camera every time knowing it was going to tilt. Very annoying

I wanted a small but sturdy tripod head for back packing. This head is perfect.

What I like most about this tripod is the leg adjustment. Just two snaps per leg and you are done.

When I initially received the SBH-50 Ball Head, it was non-useable due to malfunctioning QS release button. I received the new unit on a Saturday and e-mailed Vanguard asking for return procedure. By Monday morning I had an e-mail stating that they were sending me a replacement platform with repair instructions. I received the replacement part on Thursday and had the repaired QS Ball Head fully functioning in the field by Friday morning. Vanguard USA personifies what great manufacturers do. They make quality products, but provide rapid communications to their customers if their product fails for whatever reason. Vanguard won my trust and confidence in their products. I would highly recommend their products and their brand name to anyone thinking of purchasing a Vanguard product.

I have the Canon 100 x 400 mmm L lens and this head holds it firmly. Second quick release included in package , that was great to see.

Lighter than I expected, but made of metal. I've used this for a variety of events and I really like how quickly I can adjust the camera angle. A ball head might not be the best for video panning but I get more photos on the fly because it's so much faster than using the 2-3 adjustment handles on other style heads.

I read many reviews before deciding on this ball head. It has proven to have the flexibilty I needed. I photograph mostly birds and this head allows me to follow them easily to get the shot. It also had no problem firmly holding my Canon 60D and 100-400 lens. I am very happy with it.

I got this ball head because it was light weight and would support 13 lbs. I was disappointed in the product. It may support 13 lbs but not securely. I'd set it, tighten all the knobs, let go of the camera and it would drop a bit. Not at all what I expected.

Has a great feel to it. It supported my D90 w/70-300 zoom in portrait position with ease. Panning feature makes fine tuning easy when ball is set.

I like to do macro work, and this ball head does a great job with my 7D with 100mm macro lens. Quick and stable.

A very usfull ball head. My only complaint is the diameter of the base is not the same as my manfrotto.

I bought this SBH-50 ball head for it's stated support weight and levels but I was a bit weary that it might not be all that high quality because of the price. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. This ball head is built like a tank all major parts (90% of the entire thing) are solid metal. The two pressure locking knobs are easy to use and hold a pro DSLR with a hefty lens with no effort even in portrait. The quick release has both a pin lock and a backup pressure lock as well. The unit even comes with a little key to help screw the quick release plate onto your camera super tight. The two bubble levels are such a great feature that I don't understand why all ball heads don't have them. You always know if your shot is straight.

The Vanguard SBH-50 Ball Head has strong Mechanical design. It has quick shoe with 1/4" camera screw. It is an extremely lightweight magnesium alloy ballhead. The SBH ball head is the ideal accessory to compliment the Elite and Tracker tripods. The precision engineered center ball ensures smooth, seamless movement. Constructed of magnesium alloy, this ball head is very strong but lightweight.
