Great price for this carbon fiber tripod. A bit tricky to position the legs at first. A bit of a learning curve - and I've had many other tripods. Seems sturdy with an 18-200 lens mounted on a Nikon D7100. Nice build. Bought a packable travel tripod. Order filled and delivered very fast.

A nice lightweight travel tripod. It's super light about 2lbs and short enough to attach to my camera bag straps. It won't replace my heavier tripods for my larger cameras with telephoto lenses, but will work where a tripod is needed for a 5-8lb camera set-up. The included ball head is smooth to operate but doesn't have a pan mode. But for $50 getting a carbon fiber tripod with a ball head and a 37.5mm plate is a deal. I plan on using a Nikon Z6II and ultra wide zoom and my Panasonic FZ1000 on a trip to Europe in a few weeks so this is perfect to put in my checked luggage.

This would be a fairly good hiking tripod due to the lightweight and small size. It's about a pound less than any other one I've tried! The ball head that comes with it is pretty sturdy but again, small! Negatives, you'd have to be really careful with your technique for long exposures. I tried using it for the blood moon eclipse with Sony 100-400 my camera and it defiantly vibrated at the slightest touch. So high wind would also probably be an issue or rushing water in a stream. But in general it should be okay as long as it's not super long exposure. Second, it's also not all THAT tall, especially without using the center column (which makes it even more unstable). So you probably couldn't even get it to proper standing portrait height, but again, this is probably for landscape stuff, maybe mobile vlogging, though you could probably use something even smaller for that.

The tripod is great quality and it makes adjusting angles extremely easy. The carbon fiber material makes it very light and easy to throw in a pack for a hike.

Great little tripod. It's super light and compact. Legs extend very easily and smoothly; can be done one handed with ease. The knobs on the ball head are a bit awkward to use but manageable. Contrary to some other reviews the head is 100% removeable! just tighten up the knob for the twist and give it a good twist to remove it.

A carbon fiber tripod well under $100 got my attention - coming from Adorama got my trust. The build is solid and it?s light weight, perfect for pro?s who are looking to pack light or novices looking for pro level quality in a medium tripod. Fully extended, the camera height is 5? from the ground. The mounting plate is not a quick release, so it takes a little longer to secure and dismount. You also need to have a good grip on your camera during the process. If you ever have to hike in to a spot for a shot you will quickly appreciate the size and weight of the VEO 2.

I am an enthusiast and needed a tripod for run and gun situations, and only carrying a backpack. The Vanguard VEO 2 tripod is working as I expected. It is lightweight, ties on well to the bottom of my backpack, and it feels decently sturdy for a travel tripod, though I don't put my tripods in situations that would test its limits. When it is fully extended, there is some flexing going on, but I expect that would be the case with all travel tripods at this price point. With that in mind, and some adjustments, this tripod with working very well.

Overall well made and nice looking. All the functions works well but there is one big down side. You can't remove the head from the tripod leg. So, keep in mind if you want to buy this tripod.

Strong, light, sturdy. The tripod was a replacement for an old aluminum tripod that I was happy with for years. My baby brother took off with it to Arkansas (?!?), so I had to get a new one. Adorama had this one on sale, so I thought I'd try it. It's better than I had hoped.

I mounted my Acratech ball head to the tripod and it works well, though it struggles to hold my Canon 5DIV with 100-400 lens. Works very well with smaller lenses.

Light, sturdy, vibration dampens quickly. Sturdy ball head, friction adjustable. Center column can be shortened for low shots with legs swim wide. Best price I?ve seen for a quality carbon fiber unit. Love it!

Desperately needed a carbon fiber, lightweight tripod for backpacking in my marketing work for a local mountain resort so I purchased the Vanguard VEO 2 on sale. This is the first winter season I've used it and it fits my needs fairly nicely. Lighter weight than my small, aluminum unit, just as strong and easily supports my D780 with a 70-200mm lens. I do hang my camera back pack underneath to stabilize the tripod. My only, minor thought is that it does take a little bit of time to rotate the friction locks on the tripod legs to extend/retract the VEO 2, making run & gun set up for action captures in the back country more burdensome than the flip latches more commonly seen on studio tripods. No big deal for landscape photography, but has been an issue a couple of times (plan ahead). Overall, a great replacement for a light weight, back packing, travel alternative! It's my go to tripod when I fly!

I found this tripod to be light weight and quick to set up. The only thing taking getting used to is the ball knob with a wing. I would have preferred just a simple round knob instead. Other than that great tripod.

Nice travel tripod
By Timothy M.
This is a nice travel tripod. The actions are smooth and consistent. It is not a heavy duty unit, so you will want to keep the load weight to a minimum. I love the way it folds down to a small footprint.
- VEO 2 204CB Tripod-
VEO 2 204CB is a super portable and super lightweight 4 section carbon Fiber travel tripod. Supports over 3 times it's own weight. Folds to 16 inches and extends to 53 inches including it's Arca compatible ball head.
Vanguard's VEO 2 204CB Carbon Fiber tripod is ultra light weight but not light weight on quality. It's magnesium canopy joins it's 3 carbon fiber legs and allows the aluminum center column to swing into it's vertical position in less than 15 seconds. Each leg can be locked in any of 3 angles to accommodate uneven terrain or lower the center column for low angle shots. Each leg section can be extended and locked using Vanguard's Advanced Twist Lock system which offers fast secure lockup of each section. The included Arca compatible ball head can be removed from the long center column and mounted on the included short center column for super low level macro shots. This super compact tripod is small enough so you never have to leave it behind and adjustable enough for virtually any shooting opportunity.
- VEO 2 BH-45 Ball Head -
The VEO 2 BH-45 Ball Head is mainly designed for compact travel tripods and monopods. Itf s a compact Aluminum Ball Head that delivers great performance. Whether you are trying to get great portrait or landscape shots, this solid ball-head delivers an incredibly solid grip. Weighing in at just 240 gr / 0.53 lbs, it performs with up to a 4 kg / 8.8 lbs work load; which is perfect for mirrorless camera equipment.
The VEO 2 BH-45 comes with an ergonomic locking knob that makes it easy to grip when locking or releasing the movement. The ball head uses a standard 1/4" thread to attach to all standard travel tripods with removable heads, or monopods. The Quick Release plate is Arca compatible and fitted a 1/4" D-ring screw. A built-in spirit level helps with levelling the overall kit.
