In the summer of 2013 the Victorinox Swiss Army family lost its Patriarch and grandson of our founder, Karl Elsener. Carl Elsener Sr., was an inventor, a visionary leader and a great entrepreneur. Known as the Swiss businessman who brought the little red Swiss Army Knife to the world, he made it a true companion for millions of people around the globe.

To honor the memory of this exceptional man, Victorinox is launching a very special collectors' item. Mr. Elsener had a long-standing affinity for his Explorer knife; to celebrate this, we are re-launching it in a Limited Edition with Damascus steel blade, inlaid steel Cross Shield and Swiss wood scales engraved with Mr. Elsener Sr.'s signature. Each item is serialized with 7,000 pieces to be produced worldwide
