I've long carried a Victorinox Classic knife as a personal tool. It's small enough to fit in the watch pocket of jeans and has most of the implements I regularly have occasion to use: screwdriver, scissors, tweezers, toothpick and, of course, a small knife blade. The missing element has always been a phillips-head screwdriver. While the small screwdriver blade can be finessed with some phillips screws, it's a work-around at best. The Rambler knife addresses this need with an extra blade having a phillips bit and also a bottle opener. The additional blade is robust and the knife is noticeably thicker as a result but the other dimensions are unchanged and it still fits nicely in the watch pocket. It's a welcome expansion of the capabilities of a daily-carry knife.

Goes everywhere with me. I feel naked without it. Has stuff you'll use every day, nothing you won't use. Quality, durability and usability is unsurpassed.

It has been about 20 years now that I carry a Rambler clipped to a tiny LED flashlight everywhere I go (I just tuck the knife into my checked baggage when I fly). All of the 58mm Victorinox knives are great, and serve different purposes, but to my mind the Rambler is the king. In addition to all the tools one finds in the Classic, the Rambler has a combination Philips screwdriver / bottle opener / wire stripper, which I have found to be very handy, indeed. I've never broken one (although I have abused them at times). Highly recommended.

The Rambler is nicer (and imperceptibly thicker) than the more widely sold Signature model. Puts the blade on the side opposite the keyring, making it MUCH more usable. Adds a Phillips #1 size screwdriver. (The flat screwdriver also fits Phillips #2 screws.) I carried a Signature for many years and this Rambler for a couple of years. (This purchase replaced a lost one.) It takes up little pocket space and adds hardly any weight. Unnoticable in jeans or a winter suit and barely noticable in a summer suit pants pocket.
