Great Tripod

Wanted a really nice tripod and my Gizo is getting old. This new tripod somehow feels lighter. The twist locks are just as I expected and wow the height is amazing. I didn't have a really high tripod and this one gets you all you could ask for. It's RRS so you know it is not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Last Tripod Purchase (ever)

After dealing with sub-standard or heavy tripods, I finally came to the realization that a quality tripod more than pays for itself in the long run. However, when I decided to buy this tripod, most vendors, including the manufacturer did not have it. I was surprised to find it at Adorama. The tripod itself is very lightweight and almost as tall as I am (6?6?). With my ball head and camera attached, I will not need to extend the legs completely. The tripod is rock steady as well. It is definitely what I needed.

RRS Tripod

This is a very well made tripod. Not sure it's worth the money, but I purchased for the stability and customer support/future parts if needed. There are others half the price, but if I need to repair customer service is not at the same level.

Amazing tripod and rock solid.

I'm not sure why the previous review is 1 star since it describes the tripod as being excellent. As it is. Quality and stability of this tripod is top-notice. Like many people, I came to this after buying Chinese knockoff tripods. They're great for the price, but when you compare a RRS tripod to one of those after a few years of use you'll see why these cost two or three times the price. They are rock solid.

Quality.

Well built - quality - expensive, but it is the probably the last tripod I'll ever buy. Important factors in the decision to buy this were the weight capacity, length when collapsed, maximum and minimum height.

A Truly Great Tripod

I had to replace my aluminum Gitzo Traveller tripod. Back issues made it a problem to stoop over for hours. I've had it for twenty years. The center column could be raised, but I don't like that solution out in the wind for landscapes, seascapes, and woodland photography. My old tripod was around 5' tall. I'm 6' tall. This tripod comes without a center column and is over my head. No more stooping. Excellent engineering and build quality, expected from RRS. This RRS tripod is lighter than my old Gitzo and folds up in the same space. I love this new tripod. I made a really smart decision to buy it.

The TVC-34 Mk2 is a perfect blend of high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design, a compact, standard-height Versa Series 3 tripod, meticulously engineered to fit inside most airline-approved carry-on bags when collapsed and with head & feet removed. Despite its lightweight construction at only 4.4 pounds, this tripod is capable of supporting a hefty 50 pounds, making it an ideal choice for wildlife photography and telephoto lenses up to 800mm.

Our Mark 2 tripods have been enhanced with improved ergonomics for a more comfortable and seamless operation. The addition of 1/4"-20 sockets along the tripod's apex allows for the attachment of optional accessories and shoulder-strap mounts, increasing its versatility.

We've also redesigned the twist-locks to prevent contamination from grit and debris, ensuring longevity and smooth operation. A unique vent at the top of each leg facilitates efficient air transfer when extending or collapsing the tripod, allowing for rapid deployment and takedown.

The TFC-34 Mk2, a variant of the TVC-34, swaps the Versa apex for a fixed apex. While the fixed apex cannot be used with accessories like a quick-column, it offers a smaller diameter pack size than the TVC-34.

What remains unchanged is our unwavering attention to detail and commitment to proudly hand-assemble all our tripods in the USA.
