Massive QC let down

I've now ordered and sent back my Stream Onyx twice. Don't get me wrong, the turntable works and looks great. The unboxing is a joy. Connection to my Sonos is a breeze. But in both cases the foil wrapping has come loose and bubbles near the bottom right of the platter. For a turntable in this league as far as price is concerned, I'd expect quality control at production to have spotted it. Third time lucky? I'm not chancing it...

Big pain, not worth it

If you want to mess with the app for 5-10 minutes before the record plays then this is the turntable for you. If you want the record to play immediately don't buy this one. Relying on WiFi and the Victoria App in order to play a vinyl record is a big pain, not worth. I regret this purchase.

Wish connection was more seamless but does work!

I love the ability to use Sonos beam/setup with a record player! That was the sole purpose of buying this record player. The WiFi function works decent and the app is just decent also. Sometimes WiFi doesn't pick up and may have to reset WiFi but to have the sound quality through Sonos is the purpose. Yes it's expensive but does it work YES. I got lucky bought refurbished so just know that the band is on the console as I almost returned due to missing parts. Overall I am happy with purchase to be able to play vinyl through speakers I already have! Side note I have 700 mbps internet so that also helps!

Pain in the rear

Not easy to set up. Needle broke already. It doesn't connect to our Sonos regularly and has to be connected manually. It needs rebooting often.

Dicey connection & limited Sonos

The collection is dicey at time's & it will only interface with one room at a time - other than that it's a great system

Easy to setup for Audio Engineers

Nice packaging. You'd think someone could've thrown in a "getting started" one-sheet though. The printed insert hat comes with the player says the User Guide is on the website but I can't find it.

Good player

The player collects a lot of dusk with the finish. The player works as advertised. The sound to Sonos speakers is seamless. The app could use some work, you can't adjust the volume in the app using your side buttons.

Great Turntable

Enjoying the turntable. Wish you supplied printed instructions on how to connect the speakers and turntable, rather than going to the app which takes so much more time entering all my personal information to obtain setup instructions that were not clear. You supply a 4 page printout of all legal info and warrantee info that could be on the app. I contacted your support staff by email and got a helpful response right away for a skip issue I was experiencing. Happy that you do provide good customer service.

So crisp

The sound quality is amazing. We have it hooked up to the Sonos and it is one of the crispest sounding audios I've heard. We are very pleased

The unit is great, but

The unit is great, but it didn't work "out of the box". At first, all records sounded terribly distorted. It turned out the belt had been incorrectly installed at the factory. Once I removed the platter and re-mounted the belt, which was a bit tricky, the problem was solved.

Set up was a nightmare.

Set up was a nightmare. Tried to call for support and reached a voicemail. Luckily I am tech savvy and I was able to figure it out. Please fix your app. Once I was able to get it rebooted and play a record I was blown away. Best record player I have ever owned. Worth the trouble and the money.

Victrola app cumbersome in staying sync'd with Sonos

The Victrola App is super cumbersome in syncing with Sonos to show available speaker groups, had to force stop the Victrola App several times before it recognized my Sonos speakers on the second time using my Victrola Stream. Maybe a little buyers remorse here.

Initial setup took some time

Initial setup took some time integrating with my Sonos S1 system. Victrola and Sonos apps needed to be updated. Encountered some WiFi issues but finally everything was operational. Regarding the Victrola Onyx, easy to configure out of the box. Quality is excellent. Nicely controlled via iPhone app. Would be nice to see a record stacking feature.

the Victrola stream Onyx a great solution for Sonos systems

I have had turntables and sound systems with turntables built in and are Direct drive or belt-driven from the 70's onward. There was a time I went CD only and got rid of the tables (not the vinyl). Around 2019 give or take, I wanted to hear the actual vinyl and digitize the records I did not have CDs for. A Victrola Navigator then a Direct drive from another brand with USB and a moving magnet cartridge for a step up in 2020. A downsizing move made me keep the Victrola and sell my component theater system with the direct drive table. I got a Sonos Beam Gen 2 as my TV soundbar and the larger matching sub. They sound excellent no matter what is playing on them. So, I went looking for a less expensive way to add a table to my Sonos S2-based system then a Sonos port or amp or a Sonos speaker with audio input. That adds to the cost of a table. With the Stream Onyx works with Sonos, I can play right to my Sonos system and use the RCA line level outputs to feed my computer with an external audio interface/sound card to continue digitizing vinyl. The setup was easy; follow the instructions in the app or on the videos and in 30 minutes or less, you listen to your records! Without that bridge to the Sonos environment. The hardest part is tweaking the tracking and anti-skating so that loud sections of your records are without skipping; yes, there is help on the website. I love this table and recommend it.

Nice product, Size listed is misleading

The record player looks great and connects with Sonos very easily. You will want to use the audio delay mode so that it doesn't skip. Unfortunately I had a custom piece of furniture made to fit the record player based on the measurements for the device listed on the website not knowing those measurements don't include the volume knob. So beware the depth is more like 14 inches.

Happy with the the quality

Happy with the the quality feel. At this price point there should be a 'real' dust cove, hinged in the back. The current one is obviously an after thought.

Simple solution

Purchased this yesterday and hooked it up right away. Setup and connection were a breeze. I'm Using the WIFI to connect to my whole house Sonos system. The sound quality is quite good through the average speakers. I really was amazed at how easy it was to setup and haw simple it is to use. Great product. I've been looking for this for a long time.

Love it. Would recommend.

I'm obsessed. It sounds so good that I was upset at first because it was as clear as playing through spotify, and I did want more of the record sound/feel. I got that with different records. Overall, it's gorgeous, has a clear sound, and the autoconnect feature works well with my Sonos system. I'm still figuring out how to easily sync all of the speakers in the house, but I am sure most of that is user error and it typically works well. Well worth the money

Amazing turntable for home Sonos system

The Victrola Stream is a fantastic turntable option for homes with Sonos sound systems. It's amazing to be able to spin a record and hear it in every room of the house rather than needing to stay in the one space where the turntable and speaker setup is. I love how sleek and modern the design is!

Whole house sound

This set up so easily. Not only is it sleek looking and a beautiful addition to our living room, but connecting it to our whole house Sonos system was a breeze. I have my record playing inside on every in-ceiling speaker, and even outside on the patio under our tiki. This is musical bliss. Great stuff, Victrola! This is a game changer.

Been waiting for something like this!

Have had my Sonos system for s while now and have always wanted to hook up a turntable to it, but just didn't love any of the options that were available, as they felt more like hacks than a full integration with the speakers. The Onyx not only looks sweet, it is a truly wireless solution, so I can put it anywhere in my house (as long as there is a good wifi signal). Now I'm listening to more vinyl than I have in years. It's especially great when we have friends over and want to let people pick records, talk music, and flip through albums.

Victrola doing it right!

This is a great turntable! I would say the quality is right up there with an AT-LP120 with the upgraded stylus. Really a nice touch. So aside from connecting to Sonos, this is a great standalone turntable. Connecting to Sonos has been a breeze and it's so nice to be able to go inside and outside and still enjoy my stereo. I have a dedicated room for my hi-fi set up, but this is great for entertaining.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Addition to Sonos System

I recently bought the Victrola Onyx Player and I have to say, I am blown away by its Sonos compatibility. Although I usually don't write reviews, this turntable was too cool not to share. The sound quality that I get from my speakers is a whole new experience compared to normal internet streaming. It's the perfect complement to my streamlined entertainment system, and the fact that it's reigniting my interest in vinyl collection was a bit of a surprise. I also love sharing it with friends - it's a great conversation starter.

Connect easily, listen and enjoy

truly happy with our new Victrola Stream. Out of the box, the Stream quickly impresses with its weight and aesthetically cool matte finish and seemingly simple but actually sophisticated and elegant design. The components feel well made and reliable. The ability to connect with our Sonos for a rich and consistent sound blends craftsmanship and technology in one device and changes our ability to listen to our Vinyl throughout our home.

Best Sonos turntable on the market!

Love this turntable. Here is why: Easy directions to get set up. I was worried about having install a cartridge, balance the tone arm and getting everything set up correctly. Victrola has thought this through and makes it very easy to set up thanks to a QR code that takes you to an app you download to your smart phone. The app is great and delivers step by step instructions. Then once you get set up, it's pretty easy to get integrated into your Sonos system. My Sonos system is placed throughout the home and it was fun to hear some of my old vinyl that isn't avail on Spotify or iTunes. This is why I purchased the turntable. While the turntable delivers great sound with my new records, I was super impressed how it handled my older vinyl that has some scratches, warps and pops. Those records played just fine and sounded great despite their age and wear. To me, that is a sign of a good turntable. If you have a record collection that includes several releases that aren't avail on any of the streaming services, then this is a must have. Thank you Victrola!

Nice Product - Looks good, sounds good for the most part. Over priced and might be outdated already.

Although the Stream Carbon has more of a premium look, I went with the Stream Onyx because after looking at the specs it didn't seem like there was going to be much of a difference in sound quality between the Stream Carbon and Stream Onyx. Plus I actually like the all black design of the Stream Onyx because it goes more with my home aesthetic. In regards to build quality the Stream Onyx is pretty solid. The dust cover is ok, but slightly annoying when you have to look for a place to put the dust cover while playing records. Setup to my Sonos system was pretty easy. It took a minute to connect, but once it did it has only disconnected twice during playback. Overall I like this product a lot and records being played on it sound good via my sonos speakers. However having this now for a little over a month, there are a few issues I have 1) I think it's over priced. And the fact that they have lowered the price less than 45 days on the market, leads me to believe that Victrola has come to realize that too. Also I feel like Victrola should make up the price difference for early adopters since it's already on sale for $50 off. 2) I wish there was an automatic tone arm. The knob on the front is basically just for you to be able to turn the volume up and down or pause the song. Wish it was like an automatic button that lifted the tone arm and automatically had the tone arm shift over to the album. And 3) the biggest one. Now that Sonos has released new speakers that are Bluetooth compatible (Era 100 and Era 300) you can just purchase a cheaper turntable like the AudioTechnica AT-LP60XBT that connects to speakers over Bluetooth. Sure there is the Victrola Stream App, but there is not much to the app so it feels like the biggest selling point for the Stream Carbon and Stream Onyx in that it "connects seamlessly with Sonos" no longer really holds a lot of weight.
