I've had one for several years which I use with the Velbon PH-157Q video head primarily as support for either a 65mm or 80mm Pentax spotting scope. For a tall person like myself, the Velbon is very tall for its weight, extremely stable, and so far very durable. I also have a heavier load Gitzo carbon fiber tripod to compare it with, and I have been extremely impressed with the Velbon, particularly for its bargain price.

Terrific tripod but note that its Max Load capacity is 8.83 lbs (4 kg) as specified on the box (I just received it). A lot of websites have the same misinformation, apparently due to poor spec download from Velbon. The only "25" is for diameter of top leg in mm's. But a wonderful and stable tripod... but short of my load requirements.

Extremely light, yet very sturdy tripod. Constructed with rigid Carbon Fiber Legs, and a superior, durable Magnesium Body. Carbon fiber and magnesium materials are One Third Lighter than aluminum.
This durable and versatile tripod has Low-Angle and Semi Low-Angle Positions with a Split Center Column, as well as scratch resistant Neoprene Grips and Rubber Feet.
The effortless Lever Lock System enables extending or contracting the legs at any position even in cold weather. (Please Note: This version Requires Head, not included)
